Daddy’s Home 2 and Murder on the Orient Express are in movie theaters around St. Louis this weekend. My Little Pony: The Movie and Blade Runner 2049 are both showing this weekend at Keller 8 Cinema in South County. The Glass Castle, The Beguiled and Overdrive are among the movies now available to rent at your local Redbox.
Daddy’s Home 2 opens tonight at MX Movies. Boo 2! A Madea Halloween and Thor: Ragnarok are also showing this weekend at at the movie theater in downtown St. Louis.

Thor: Ragnarok led to box office to its biggest weekend since July with a $122.7 million opening weekend. A Bad Moms Christmas was well behind with $16.7 million in its opening weekend.
Overall, the 118 movies in theaters brought in a combined $180.25 million over the weekend. The last time the box office saw receipts that high during a weekend was July 21-23.

Daddy’s Home 2
Dads Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell are back and this time they are joined by their own dads in Daddy’s Home 2, in theaters November 10.
Mel Gibson joins the cast as Wahlberg’s father while John Lithgow appears as Ferrell’s. The two grandfathers come to town for joint holiday festivities.
Todd M. Thatcher predicts an opening weekend haul of $21.8 million for Daddy’s Home 2.

Murder on the Orient Express
Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express comes to the big screen for the second time this weekend. The 1974 original led to an Oscar win for Ingrid Bergman nominations for Finney, writer Paul Dehn, cinematographer Geoffrey Unsworth, costume designer Tony Walton and Richard Rodney Bennett for his musical score.
In this new take on the classic, Kenneth Branagh fills the director’s chair that was occupied by Sidney Lumet in the 70s. Branagh also stars as Hercule Poirot. The film also stars Penelope Cruz and Willem Defoe.
Todd M. Thatcher predicts an opening weekend of $24.6 million for Murder on the Orient Express this weekend.
