Who Is Offering Free Stuff To Veterans This Veterans Day? Here’s The 2017 List Of Free Food, Drinks, Shopping Deals & More

Veterans Day is coming up on Saturday, November 11 this year. This holiday to honor those who have served honorably  in the military began in 1919 when President Woodrow Wilson designated November 11 as Armistice Day. It wasn’t until 1938 that the day became an official federal holiday, however. Armistice Day officially became the Veterans Day we know today by an act on Congress in 1954.

Veterans Day has become a day for restaurants and stores to offer free items or discounts to those who have served or are serving in the miltary and their families. We’ve compiled a list of some of the best deals being offered on Veterans Day this year below.

Free Food On Veterans Day

IHOP –  IHOP will be offering a free stack of Red, White & Blue pancakes to all active duty military and veterans on Friday, November 10. Also, $1 from every order of Red, White & Blue pancakes during November will be donated to the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation.

Bandana’s BBQ – a free meal, valued at up to $10 to veterans and active duty military membersBandana’s BBQ will be offering on Saturday, November 11.

River City Casino – Veterans and active duty military personnel can eat free at The Great Food Exposition buffet on Friday, November 10.

Golden Corral – Veterans and active duty military personnel eat free on Monday November 13 from 5 pm -9 pm for Military Appreciation Night at Golden Corral.

54th Street Grill & Bar – 54th Street will be offering a free entree (up to $12)  on Saturday, November 11 to veterans and active duty military personnel.

Max & Erma’s – Participating locations are offering a free Best Cheeseburger meal which includes a 1/2 lb hand crushed cheeseburger, endless seasoned fries, and a fountain drink. Dine-in only. St. Louis locations: Lake St. Louis, St. Peters, Des Peres.

Applebee’s – Applebee’s locations will be offering a free meal to veterans and active service members on Saturday, November 11.

Buffalo Wild Wings – Buffalo Wild Wings locations will be offering a free order of wings to all veterans and active armed services members on November 11.

California Pizza Kitchen – California  Pizza Kitchen locations across the country will be offering a free entree from a special menu to all veterans and active military personnel on Veterans Day.

Denny’s –  Denny’s locations will be offering a Free Build Your Own Grand Slam breakfast from 5 am – noon for veterans and active duty military personnel on Friday, November 10. Valid ID is required.

Hooter’s – Veterans and active duty military personnel can enjoy free food with a drink purchase at Hooter’s locations on Saturday, November 11.  A variety of food options will be available to choose from.  Acceptable proof of military service is required.

Krispy Kreme – Veterans and active military personnel can enjoy a free doughnut and small coffee at Krispy Kreme locations on Saturday, November 11. No ID required.

O’Charley’s –  Veterans and active military personnel can enjoy a free $9.99er entree on Saturday, November 11.

Olive Garden – Veterans and active military personnel eat free on Saturday, November 11.

Red Lobster  Veterans and active duty military personnel can choose either a free appetizer or dessert at Red Lobster locations on Saturday, November 11.

Red Robin: Veterans can enjoy a free Red’s Tavern  Double Burger and Bottomless Steak Fries at Red Robin locations on Saturday, November 11. 

Starbucks– Veterans, active duty military personnel and spouses can get a free tall brewed coffee from Starbucks on Veterans Day.

Texas Roadhouse –  Texas Roadhouse will be offering a free lunch on Veterans Day to veterans and active duty military personnel.  A special menu will be offered to choose from.

T.G.I. Friday’s – On Saturday, November 11 Veterans and active duty military personnel with valid identification will be able to choose a lunch item (valued at up to $12) for free from 11 am – 2 pm.

Papa John’s – Papa John’s will be offering 50% off regularly-priced  pizzas this weekend to veterans and military families. The Veterans Day special starts Friday, November 10.

Retail Deals For Veterans On Veterans Day

Lowe’s – Lowe’s offers a 10% Military Discount to veterans and active duty military members year-round.

Home Depot: Home Depot offers a year round 10% discount off purchases for military – active and veterans and their families.

Dollar General: Dollar General stores will be offering an 11% discount to veterans, active duty military and their immediate family members on Saturday, November 11.

Great Clips – Great Clips will be offering free haircuts to veterans and current military members on Veterans Day. Those qualifying for a free haircut may choose to receive a card for a free haircut at a later date instead. Anyone paying full price for a haircut on Veterans Day will receive a Free Haircut card to give to a veteran of their choice..

Foot Locker – Foot Locker offers a 20% discount to Veterans Advantage Discount Card members every day.

Target –Target is offering veterans and active duty military personnel as well as their families  a 10% discount between November 7-11. In order to receive the discount, qualified shoppers must register in advance.

Free Car Washes –  Auto-Spa, Concord, Country Club, Gas House, Rain Tunnel, SqueakyClean, Waterway, and many more. Check the website for the full listing of locations.
