Best Boneless Chicken Wings in STL

BONELESS WINGS The concept of chicken on a bone has never enticed me. That’s not true, it is semi-terrifying. I am also not a big fan of processed meat, chicken or otherwise. But really, how can you avoid that? I know that some people can, but I’m not those people. I have some strange food habits but there’s one thing I know – boneless chicken wings.

Given my fear of bone-in food, I had obviously never had a chicken wing before but I had also never had buffalo sauce. So, I had no idea what I was missing until a friend made a buffalo chicken dip for a party. Subsequently, I became obsessed. So now I wanted to eat more buffalo sauce, but the dilemma was finding buffalo sauce without a bone attached. There are some really good options out there like the buffalo chicken quesadilla from Sarah’s Meltdown Food Truck but I really felt left out when people would eat normal chicken wings. Enter the boneless wing.

I fully understand that many people think that the boneless wing is just a chicken tender with buffalo sauce, and maybe it is, but I appreciate being able to order boneless wings at a restaurant to feed my unhealthy addiction to buffalo sauce. I know there are people out there just as grateful as I am for the new boneless wing craze!

To the point. I, like other buffalo sauce lovers, wanted to know where the best boneless wings were in St. Louis. The problem was that finding a restaurant that even carries them was a real chore. So I did the leg work and found some of the best places in St. Louis with boneless wings. I tried every one of these places and compared their traditional buffalo sauced boneless wings. Many of them also have other amazing sauces to try as well.

To be fair, while testing boneless wings, I was looking for high quality chicken, zesty but not too spicy buffalo sauce, and a crisp breading. This is just my preference so I listed all the options for you below.

Culpeppers Culpeppers

Hands-down, the best boneless chicken wing tasted on my journey. Perfect blend of great tasting, high quality chicken and buffalo sauce and just the right amount of crunch in the breading. This is also a great location in the vibrant Central West End.

300 N. Euclid Ave., St. Louis, MO 63108

Truemans Trueman’s

This is my second favorite place. This is a more traditional bar atmosphere with good drink specials and sand volleyball! These boneless wings are huge – it is required to use a knife. They also use more breading than most so if you are not a breading fan, these are not for you.

1818 Sidney, St. Louis, MO 63104

Bar Louie Bar Louie

Bar Louie is always fun. They have a huge patio and a great menu. These wings would be for the more traditional wing-breading lovers. The sauce is good, but the breading is very thin and not crunchy at all.

Buffalo Wild Wings Buffalo Wild Wings

I had to throw in a traditional chain restaurant. These are always delicious and you have tons of sauce options.

Gas House Grill Gas House Grill

This was a pleasant surprise. Love the outdoor patio. Good combination of flavor, quality, and breading.

12643 Olive Blvd, Creve Coeur, MO 63141

Frailey's Frailey’s Southtown

Failey’s also has a great outdoor patio and a delicious Deep Fried Snickers Split that is well worth making the drive to South County to taste! Good quality chicken and breading. The buffalo sauce is not traditional in my opinion so if you are looking for that flavor, you may want to try somewhere else.

4329 Butler Hill Rd, St Louis, MO 63128

St. Louis Wing Co St. Louis Wing Co.

This restaurant has a great atmosphere and a fun bone-in wing challenge where you can get your picture on the Wall of Flame and win a t-shirt! These boneless wings have a more traditional, thin breading and a zesty sauce.

9816 Manchester Rd, St Louis, MO 63119

Other restaurants with boneless wings in St. Louis not included above:
