Recapping Last Weekend
Cars 3 opened with $53.7 million in receipts last weekend to take the weekend box office crown. The performance kept Wonder Woman from making it three weekends in a row atop the box office. Gal Gadot and company brought in $42.3 million in receipts in Wonder Woman‘s third weekend of release and have now passed the $275 million mark domestically. The film from director Patty Jenkins is closing in on $585 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo.
All Eyez On Me, the Tupac Shakur biopic, brought in $26.4 million in its debut on just 2,471 screens nationwide. With an average of $10,698 per screen, the film trailed only Cars 3 and its $12,615 average (4,256 screens) in that respect.
47 Meters Down opened to the tune of $11.2 million in its debut while Rough Night brought in just more than $8 million.
Opening This Weekend
Transformers: The Last Knight
The fifth movie in the Transformers franchise, Transformers: The Last Knight, opens in theaters across the country this weekend. The franchise got its start with director Michael Bay back in 2007 and still have movies planned for 2018 and 2019.
If you haven’t been able to figure it out by now, Michael Bay isn’t exactly making Transformers for the La La Land crowd. The franchise proudly targets a certain audience, but even that audience looks to be wearing thin. The Last Knight opened yesterday and is already trending for a lower opening that other movies in the franchise.
Deadline has reported that Transformers: The Last Knight is eyeing a worldwide box office debut of up to $270 million.

See Baywatch This Weekend At Keller 8
Keller 8 Cinema in South County welcomes Baywatch, starring Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario, Priyanka Chopra, Kelly Rohrbach, Jon Bass and Ilfenesh Hadera.
I saw this one in theaters on its opening night and enjoyed it. Make sure you know what you are getting yourself into. The movie doesn’t take itself too seriously. Zac Efron is buff like a Greek God and some of the jokes get take way too far.
