Your St. Louis weekend event guide from Thursday, November 21st through Sunday, November 24th.
Macy’s Festival of Lights: Starting at 4pm, kids can see Santa Claus, enjoy delicious food from local food trucks: Zia’s, Hot Aztec, Sarah’s Cake Shop, 2 Girls 4 Wheels, Sweet Devine, and My Big Fat Greek Truck, and watch performances by the St. Louis Christmas Carols Association, Salvation Army Band Ensemble, and Rivertown Sound Quartet. Then at 5pm, enjoy performances by: Moscow Ballet Nutcracker St. Louis Dancers, Grand Center Arts Academy Show Choir, Muny Kids, and Show-Me Sound. The tree lighting will take place at 6:25pm followed by a fireworks show. Then join the luminaire walkway to Washington Avenue for more entertainment and holiday treats at the MX District for the family. At 7pm, the John Beal After Party begins, featuring Griffin & the Gargoyles. Trolley rides will be available to Washington Avenue from Keiner Plaza.

EctoCon: A Ghostbusters Convention in St. Louis! This is an event for the whole family. There will panel discussions, events for adults and children. There’s even a Girlbuster’s Fashion Show & Costume Contest. The event will also include a collectibles swap meet, karaoke party!, building contests, costume contest, film showing, gaming, and last but not least, performances from Professor Shyguy, the high energy, chiptune-electro-rocking, 8-bit, epically vocalized, highly danceable, theatrical nerd-pop musician. Tickets are $50 for the weekend, $20 for Friday only, $25 for Saturday only.

Treasure Chest Craft Show: A 3-day holiday craft show and expo featuring hundreds of booths from local artisans and crafters. Admission and parking are free. Gift certificates and door prizes will be given away throughout the weekend. Booth vendors include: NoMan Necklaces, AAA Women Works, Just Headbands, Dollightful Creations, All Occasions Embroidery, Ricochet Rounds Designs, Pampered Chef, Cutco Cutlery, Scentsy, Juice Plus, Usborne Books, and many more.

22nd Annual Whitaker Film Festival: One of the largest international film festivals in the Midwest. It will screen 330 films: 75 narrative features, 63 documentary features, and 192 shorts. The highlight this year is an appearance by Oscar winning writer/director Oliver Stone. The fest will host more than 100 filmmakers and related guests, including honorees Jon Jost, Arsen Anton Ostojic, Nina Davenport, and AJ Schnack. Tickets are $12 each, special pricing for some events.

Whiskey in The Winter: A whiskey festival that will feature over 200 whiskies from around the world along with great whiskey cocktails, whiskey-inspired food stations, and educational seminars from whiskey industry experts. Tickets start at $90 and include: unlimited tastings of a variety of whiskeys including single malt and blended Scotch, bourbon, Irish, Tennessee, Canadian, Missouri, Japanese and international whiskies, educational seminars, whiskey-inspired food stations, and whiskey cocktail bars where mixologists will create signature whiskey cocktails. Twilight Turkey Trot: 1st Annual Turkey Trot to raise money to sponsor physical fitness activities and opportunities throughout the community as well as raise funds to start a charity for nurses and the citizens they serve. Run, walk or waddle in the spirit of community and physical fitness. Registration is $30 for adults, $25 for children.

Schlafly Winter Farmers Market: The market moves inside Schlafly Bottleworks for the winter, but continues to sell produce from local farmers including greens, turnips, scallions, plus a great selection of meat and cheese vendors, baked goods and other locally-made specialty products. Vendors generally include: 4 Seasons Baked Goods, Baetje Farms, Black Bear Bakery, Blue Heron Orchard, Centennial Farms, Deep Mud Farm, El Chico Bakery, Esther’s Honey, Farrar Out Farm, Grandma’s Nuts, Ivan’s Farm, Kakao Chocolates, Marcoot Jersey Creamery, Missouri Grass Fed Beef, Murray’s Orchard, Ozark Forest Mushroom, Salume Beddu, and Sunflower Savannah.

Zootini Pub Crawl: The Young Zoo Friends are proud to announce a new Zootini. Get your pub crawl on in Dogtown while you make your way to Felix’s Pizza Pub, Heavy Riff Brewing Company, Pat’s Bar and Grill, and Tamm Avenue Grill. The crawl will end with an after party at Seamus McDaniel’s. Ages 21 and up only. 11th Annual Fair Trade Market: One of the largest FT Markets offering thousands of handmade items including: clothing and accessories, coffee, chocolate, baskets and boxes, games, home decor, jewelry, musical instruments, rugs, toys and more. Plus, the event will include live entertainment and food, special giveaways, movie showings, scarf-tying demonstrations, information on Fair Trade, and surprises. The Fair Trade Market is designed to transport shoppers around the world and help increase awareness of fair trade principles while promoting fair trade locally. Saturday is family day with entertainment from the Manchester UMC Music Makers at 11am, followed by family crafts, games, gift wrapping, and treats.

Parkway South Holiday Spirit Arts & Crafts Fair: If you are a crafter or are looking for a great craft fair with 200+ booths of only hand-crafted, home-made items, then this is the event for you. The event will feature records, soups, candles, bling, bowls, woodwork, rugs, purses, bracelets, frames, and more by local vendors: Key Essence LLC, Thompson Farm Soups, Beads, Buttons, and Bling, Wrecked Records, OffTheCuff Bracelets, Doug’s Wood Works, Sparkle Everything, Raggin w/ Carolyn, Bowls by Bob, The Simple Cycle, and more. Admission and parking are free. The event will include raffles and prizes and helps raise money for the Spirit of ’76 Marching Band.

Pere Marquette Wine Festival: The 4th annual wine festival will feature 35 hand selected wines from around the world for sampling, live music and dancing, and complimentary appetizers. Tickets are $10, which includes a Pere Marquette Lodge wine glass along with 7 tasting tickets to begin sampling all of the featured wines displayed throughout the lodge. Purchase 7 more for just one dollar. A portion of the proceeds will go to Friends of Pere Marquette State Park Foundation.

Garden Glow: The annual holiday light exhibit at the Botanical Garden features hundreds of thousands of lights that illuminate some of the Garden’s most iconic locations. Walkways are transformed into sensory light tunnels providing an explosion of visual magic, while traditional candlelight village displays delight crowds of all ages. In addition to the light show, there are performances by DJ Dr. Frost and the Freeze Team, plus tasty holiday food and drinks. Warm up around a firepit in Candlelight Village and enjoy s’mores.
