St. Louis Weekend Events for Thursday, April 19 through Sunday, April 22, 2018 feature St. Louis Cardinals, Earth Day Festival, Hamilton, Shake 38, LagerFest, Food Truck Fest, World’s Largest Garage Sale, Third Friday, and more.

DOWNTOWN WEEKEND EVENTS

St. Louis Cardinals: The Cardinals take on the Cincinnati Reds at home this weekend. Friday’s game features an Adult Navy Mesh Pullover Jersey that fans 16 and over will go home with. There is also a Grateful Dead theme ticket. With purchase of themed ticket, fans will receive a Grateful Dead Cardinals item and a pre-game performance by St. Louis’ favorite Dead tribute band, Jake’s Leg. Saturday’s game promotional item is a Dexter Fowler bobblehead that fans 16 and over can take home. Sunday’s game promotion is a kids Yadier Molina jersey that kids 15 and under can take home and a Cardinals tote bag.

Runway Lights Fashion Show: Featuring fashions from world-famous designers on the region’s top models, Variety the Children’s Charity of St. Louis’ Runway Lights Fashion Show is modeled after those you would find in New York. This year’s event will showcase designs from none other than the fashion powerhouse that is Ralph Lauren. To top the show off, Ameren Power Kids will join professional models on the runway to demonstrate their power wheelchairs and to model their own Ralph Lauren fashions. The event also features an elegant luncheon created by local chef, Greg Maggi, followed by a live auction that includes a custom piece of jewelry by designer Adam Foster, plus fashion experiences and exotic trips. Variety Women lead the effort to raise funds for Variety’s TherHappy Kids program.

Onesie Pup Crawl: Snuggle up in your favorite onesie, grab the pooch (pupper onesie encouraged!) and head to Soulard for an afternoon “Pup Crawl” to benefit homeless pets at the Humane Society of Missouri! $20 per person includes a souvenir cup, food and drink specials at participating pubs, and furry fun with other animal lovers! We’ll be cruising to the most “pup-ular” pooch-friendly patios in Soulard while raising funds for a great cause.

Hamilton: The Fabulous Fox is proud to announce the Broadway Musical, HAMILTON, will play its premiere St. Louis engagement. With book, music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, HAMILTON is based on Ron Chernow’s biography of Founding Father Alexander Hamilton. HAMILTON is the story of America’s Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington’s right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and was the new nation’s first Treasury Secretary. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B, and Broadway, HAMILTON is the story of America then, as told by America now.

Shake 38: Each spring, SHAKE 38 gives Shakespeare back to St. Louis residents, artists, performers, and fans of his work in a marathon celebration of the Bard’s 38 plays. Since its first year in 2010, SHAKE 38 has grown from a 38-hour performance by 200 artists to a five-day event attracting over 1,500 artists from across the region and dozens of diverse community partners. Only one rule exists for participants: Make the play happen any way you see fit. The result is a dazzling array of events across the St. Louis area, designed for a variety of audiences to enjoy.

Food Truck Fest: Follow the caravan of various mobile menus and join family and friends for dinner in beautiful Tilles Park. The event is free and includes live music from the Ralph Butler Duo – band plays from 5:30- 7:30pm. This food truck event is also paired with the St. Louis County Volunteer Recruitment Fair! Come learn about volunteer opportunities throughout St. Louis County.Beer and Wine available from Edg-Clif Winery. Earth Day Festival: A community tradition to learn about sustainable products and services offered by local businesses and organizations, meet local area non-profits that share Earth Day values, as well as showcasing local entertainment and local Green Dining Alliance restaurants. Enjoy beer in the beer garden from 4 Hands Brewery and Schlafly, food from a variety of local restaurants and food trucks in cluding Salt+Smoke, Mission Taco Joint, SqWires, Urban Eats, and tons more, plus root beer from Fitz’, cocktails from Handlebar, ice cream from Clementine’s and Ices Plan & Fancy, and more. There will be 2 stages featuring live entertainment including singing from Borthers Lazaroff, Mathias and the Pirates, and more, as well as dancing, animal talks with World Bird Sanctuary, and more.

Kirkwoodland Spring Celebration: Downtown Kirkwood will come alive with fairy characters, fairy and elf themed merchandise and displays, unique ideas for your garden or fairy garden and Earth Day at the Market. Dress as a woodland creature, fairy or elf and take your photo with fairy characters in Ken Connor Park. Children can have their face painted and purchase a handmade fairy wand at Lass & Laddie, 161 W. Jefferson. Kirkwood Public Library will offer a story time. Visit Kirkwood Farmers’ Market and enjoy the first harvest of the season, colorful plants and live music during Tunes at Ten.Kirkwood Living Green will have several specialists on hand to discuss beekeeping, harvesting honey, organic gardening, composting, urban tree care and more! Native garden enthusiasts can purchase native plants from Missouri Wildflowers. Plus, 100 pine tree seedlings from the Missouri Department of Conservation will be available.

Record Store Day: Music Record Shop will include the 2018 releases plus we will be featuring a 1600 piece rock/metal collection in our VIP space on the 3rd Floor. We will open at 7am and Urban Chestnut will be dropping kegs off then! While you are digging through the crates in 303, Rebel Yell Boubon is helping you out with a featured craft cocktail tasting plus they are sponsoring a scavenger hunt in the store including prizes, gift cards for the store and other surprises! We will also have live Podcasts and Fletcher from Alt104.9 iHeart Radio broadcasting throughout the day. First 25 people in line will receive a custom swag bag.

We invited breweries from across the country renowned for their world-class lagers to brew different historical versions for this year’s kickoff! Learn about the style firsthand with around twenty, unique, historical lagers to try!In addition to ‘historic’ lagers, the fest will feature a variety of food available for purchase and live music including Bolzen Beer Band! Glassware and sampling tickets will be available for purchase day-of the festival. $15 gets you a glass and (5) samples. Additional samples available (2) for $5.
