Closed On Thanksgiving

A trend in recent years has been more and more stores opening on Thanksgiving night and offering some of their best deals before the calendar even turns to Friday. That, of course, led to more and more people voicing their displeasure at those stores making their employees work on the holiday.

Now, a growing number of stores are planning to stay closed until Friday morning.

The Mall of America has announced that it will be closed on Thanksgiving this year. That means no store location in the mall will be able to open on the holiday. All employees working in the mall that are directly employed by Mall of America will also qualify for “holiday pay” on Friday.

Kohl’s, however, will stick with Thursday shopping this year. In fact, the retailer has announced that locations will open at 5 pm on Thanksgiving this year. That’s an hour earlier than stores opened on Thanksgiving in 2016.
