STLFC Will Try To Win Back-To-Back Matches For The First Time This Season This Weekend

Fresh off a 2-0 win over Orlando City B last weekend, Saint Louis FC welcomes FC Cincinnati to World Wide Technology Soccer Park outside St. Louis this Saturday.

Kickoff for Saturday’s match at Toyota Stadium is set for 7:30 pm. Tickets are available in advance by calling 636-680-0997 or visiting SaintLouisFC.com

Last Time Out For Saint Louis FC

Ryan Howe and Christian Volesky scored and Devala Gorrick earned a clean sheet as STLFC beat Orlando City B 2-0 last weekend at Soccer Park.

Howe opened the scoring with a blast from outside the penalty area in the tenth minute that beat the OCB goalkeeper.

Volesky’s goal, his seventh of the season, came on a penalty kick in the 62nd minute.

Saint Louis FC (9-12-7) played much of the second half with only ten men on the field after Austin Ledbetter picked up his second yellow card on the match in the 54th minute. Ledbetter will serve a one-match suspension this Saturday and be unavailable for selection.

STLFC was without Konrad Plewa and Ivan Mirkovic, who both served one-match suspensions last weekend for yellow card accumulation. Both players are scheduled to be available for this Saturday’s match.

Last Time Out For FC Cincinnati

FC Cincinnati (10-9-9) beat New York Red Bulls II 4-2 last weekend in front of 30,417 fans at Nippert Stadium in Cincinnati.

Austin Berry, Corben Bone, Harrison Delbridge and Kenney Walker scored for FCC. Walker also picked up assists on the goals scored by Berry and Delbridge.

The match was the regular season home finale for Cincinnati. After St. Louis, the club will finish the regular season with matches at Charlotte, Ottawa and Toronto.

FC Cincinnati finished the regular season with a record of 8-2-6 at home and averaged 21,199 fans through 16 home matches. The club is 2-7-3 on the road this season.

Playoffs Within Reach For Saint Louis FC

With three points last weekend, STLFC kept themselves in the USL East playoff picture. The Chupacabras currently sit in 11th place on the conference table. Orlanda City B currently holds the 8th and final playoff spot with 36 points.

FC Cincinnati is in sixth place in the conference with 39 points.

STLFC will have three matches remaining in the regular season after this weekend’s match. They travel to Harrisburg City next weekend before returning home to face Richmond on October 7.

STLFC concludes the regular season on the road against Bethlehem Steel FC on Sunday October 15. Bethlehem and Pittsburgh are currently tied with 35 points apeice and square off this Sunday in Bethlehem, Pennslyvania. Bethlehem Steel FC has six matches left to play in the regular season.

The group will be hosting a Crawfish Boil to raise money for the Charity Du Jour charity of the week, the Matthews-Dickey Boys and Girls Club. 

Since Saint Louis FC’s inaugural season in 2015, the Louligans have raised more than $30,000 for charity and is on pace to top $40,000 by the end of this season.
