The St. Louis Weekend Events Guide for Friday, July 7th through Sunday, July 9th, 2017 features the St. Louis Cardinals, Sam Hunt, Megadeth, and more.

DOWNTOWN

St. Louis Cardinals: The Cardinals play at home this weekend against the Mets. Friday night’s promo giveaway item is an Adult performance t-shirt. It is also Military Appreciation Night. Fans who purchase a special Theme Ticket will receive an exclusive cap supporting their favorite branch of the military! A portion of each ticket purchased will be donated to the USO. Saturday’s promo item giveaway is a Tim McCarver Bobblehead – Part two of the two part “Final Out” bobblehead series, and Sunday’s giveaway is a Cardinals Snapback hat.

Hand of Fate Art Show: Ami Amore’ and JT Walls are the featured artists at Mad Art Gallery for the month of July. Come out for their opening reception! This is a free event but donations for performers are very much appreciated! Performances by: Rowan, Allura Fette, Tetta Wardah, Swan of ERBD, Amaiyah of ERBD, and Julya Kae. And the big STL return performance by Shazza Dazzla. Enjoy fortune tellers, Eluria DeLune doing doing flame readings, Amorticious will have items for sale as well as Robots Destroy, and more.

United Way 5K/10K: Join us at the 5k + 10k for the United Way for a morning of running, music and fun. The flat and fast course winds through Fenton neighborhood streets and Fenton City park, with the 10k running along the Meramec Riverfront. There will be cash prizes for top finishers, and live music at the start and finish by the Tailgators! All proceeds from the event go to the United Way of Greater Saint Louis, who funds more than 170 local nonprofit organizations.

Antiques Roadshow: Come on down and bring your antiques! You get two items to be appraised. If an appraiser thinks your treasure would make an interesting TV segment, he or she will call for a producer to see if your items should be taped for the show. If selected, you’ll be escorted to the Green Room, where you’ll have make-up applied, sign a release, and wait for your turn to be on camera!

Sam Hunt: The beautiful, talented country musician will be making a stop in St. Louis on his 15 In A 30 Tour. Special guests include Chris Janson who sings “Buy Me A Boat and latest release “Fix A Drink,” Maren Morris who sings hits “My Church” and “80s Mercedes” and Ryan Follese who sings “Put A Label On It.” Sam Hunt has been honored with numerous awards, including an American Music Award, a CMT Music Award, and has been nominated for Billboard Music Awards and Grammy Awards. Hits include: “House Party,” “Body Like A Backroad,” “Leave The Night On,” “Make You Miss Me,” and more. Tickets start at $42.

Sounds of Summer Concert Series: Enjoy Rockin’ Chair, an incredible eight-piece tribute that pays homage to 70’s supergroups, for a free summer concert. Bring your friends and family to one of the area’s best outdoor venues and enjoy the sounds at the beautiful Chesterfield Amphitheater. The concert will feature an interactive art element in an effort to showcase art and increase interest within the local community. Doors open at 6pm and opening acts start at 6:45pm. Grab a fixed seat or bring a blanket or a chair for lawn seating.

Megadeth: Dystopia World Tour: GRAMMY® Award winning Thrash Metal pioneers, MEGADETH, will be stopping in St. Louis on the 2017 leg of their North American Tour, supporting their new album Dystopia featuring the 2017 GRAMMY® Award winning title track “Dystopia.” Dystopia reached #3 on The Billboard Top 200 and #1 on the Hard Music/Top Rock charts. Along with band visionary Dave Mustaine at the helm, MEGADETH’s current lineup includes Kiko Loureiro on guitar, David Ellefson on bass and Dirk Verbeuren on drums. Hope For Haiti 5K: The 8th Annual Hope for Haiti 5K/10K & Fun Run will be held in Frontier Park, St. Charles, MO. This year, we are striving to raise over $30,000 dollars to be able to provide $2000 a month of support to the House of Hope Medical Clinic in Port Au Prince, Haiti and fully fund our Kids Against Hunger Program for 2017, allowing us to send over 100,000 nutritious meals to Haiti. Registration is $40 and includes a Performance T-Shirt, Snacks, Drinks, three in course refreshment stations, pre-race stretching and a free massage following the race.

However, one day when she is married and has a family to cook for, she would love to take cooking classes and learn awesome skills like the chefs on Iron Chef America...as long as she doesn't have to clean the dishes afterwards.
