Hidden Figures & Underworld Open In Theaters While A Monster Calls Expands Across The Country
Hidden Figures, A Monster Calls and Underwold: Blood Wars are in theaters around St. Louis this weekend. Hacksaw Ridge begins showing at Keller 8 Cinema. Jason Bourne and The Secret Life of Pets are among the movies now available to rent at Redbox.
Hidden Figures opens tonight at MX Movies in downtown St. Louis. Fences and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will also be showing throughout the weekend.
Recapping Last Weekend
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story easily took the weekend box office with $65 million in receipts in its third weekend of release. Sing followed up a stellar debut with a $57.3 million second weekend of release. Passengers finished in third place with $21 million in its second weekend of release.

Hidden Figures
Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, Kirsten Dunst, Kevin Costner and Janelle Monáe star in Hidden Figures. It’s based on the book by Margot Lee Shetterly about the black female mathematicians at NASA that helped put man into space.
Todd M. Thatcher predicts an opening weekend of $19.3 million for Hidden Figures.

A Monster Calls, based on the book by Patrick Ness, expands into theaters nationwide this weekend.

Todd M. Thatcher predicts an opening weekend of $17.6 million for Underworld: Blood Wars. A debut under $20 million would make Blood Wars the first movie in the franchise to miss that mark.

Hacksaw Ridge
Hacksaw Ridge, directed by Mel Gibson, tells the story of Desmond Doss and begins showing this weekend at Keller 8 Cinema in South County. Doss was a United States Army medic during WWII who was awarded a Medal of Honor for his actions during the war. Andrew Garfield stars as Doss in the film that also features Milo Gibson, Sam Worthington and Luke Bracey, among others.
