Downtown

St. Louis Cardinals: The Cardinal face off against the Milwaukee Brewers in a 4-game homes series this weekend. Thursday’s game offers the chance to get a Cardinals camo t-shirt or a Cardinals law enforcement t-shirt with purchase of theme tickets. Friday night’s giveaway is an Eddie Gaedel Bobblehead and also autograph night. Saturday’s giveaway is a gray adult zip-up jacket. Sunday’s giveaway is a ceramic Cardinals coaster set.

St. Louis & Metro Firefighters Weekend: A full weekend of family, fun, education, and giving back to the causes that help our fire fighters and their families. Celebrate the time honored traditions of the fire service. Friday night is Candlelight Vigil. Saturday morning is the Great Fire Engine Rally at Market & N 20th with the Firefighters Appreciation Ball on Saturday evening, and Sunday is the Clayton 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb.

Walk to End Alzheimers: This annual event is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. You can walk 1 mile or 3 mile routes to support. You can also donate, volunteer, or come out to cheer on the walkers. Registration starts at 8am with the Opening Ceremony at 9:30am followed by the walk at 10am which will start at 14th and Market.

Freedom Weekend at PBR: To join in the firefighters weekend festivities, PBR Bar in Ballpark Village is celebrating all of our brave first responders and military personnel at Freedom Weekend September 8th – 11th! All weekend long any military personnel, veterans, and first responders will receive 20% of their tabs and no cover charge when they present official service ID upon entry!

Food Truck Friday: Come out to Tower Grove Park and enjoy delicious food from 20+ food trucks ranging from burgers to tacos to pizza, cupcakes, sandwiches, and so much more. Bring some blankets, chairs, beverages (can also be purchased) and relax and while enjoying live music from Cree Rider in the park. Don’t forget the bug spray.

2 Flicks & Chill: Join us for 2 Flicks + Chill movie night at the Chesterfield Amphitheater! We are featuring two great movies, Old School and Lost Boys. Old School, a movie about three friends who attempt to recapture their glory days by opening up a fraternity near their alma mater, will begin at dusk. After a 20 minute intermission, The Lost Boys, a story about two brothers who discover that their new town is a haven for vampires, will begin. Both movies are free to attend! You may bring coolers, food and beverages of your choice, chairs and blankets. No glass or tobacco products. Food trucks will serve food and beverages all night long.

Starting September 9th, they will be performing Sister Act. There will be a Nosh Pit: Naked Bacon, Mission Taco, Dewey’s Pizza, Strange Donuts, Steve’s Hot Dogs, Kaldi’s and much more. There will be a market, art, and a kids zone as well. 23rd Annual St. Louis Art Fair: A festival to showcase high-end visual art and stimulating live performances. The festival features a variety of art for sale from over 180 artists, 40+ performances from local Jazz, Blues and other performers, food from local restaurants, and a creative castle for the kids. Festival admission is free.

11th Annual Carondelet Car Show: 11th Annual Car Show kicks off with a parade at 9:30am at Bellerive Park down South Broadway. The Car Show will begin at 10am at South St. Louis Square Park. This family event will feature children’s prizes throughout the day, trophies, music, 50/50 raffles, and festivities for all. A portion of proceeds to benefit the SLPD & SLFP.

Tanglefoot Brew Fest: The 4th Annual Brewfest is sponsored by the Friends of the Festus Parks. Proceeds from this event have been used to purchase shade structures for the playgrounds in the Festus Parks System and other park and playground improvements. This tasting event will take place in conjunction with the annual Twin City Days celebration between Festus and Crystal City. The beer tasting includes beers from over 30 different breweries with over 50 beers represented. Breweries include: Bastard Brothers Brewing, Old Bakery Brewing, Little Egypt Brewery, 4204 Main St, Charleville Microbrewery, Recess Brewing, Ste. Genevieve Brewing, Main and Mill Brewing, Minglewood Brewing, Urban Chestnut, Russell House Brewing, and many others. Additionally, local homebrewers will be present offering their unique flavors and beers. Food will be available for purchase. Tickets are $25 through Friday and$30 at the gate.

Show Me St. Louis Reptile & Exotics Show: One of the largest reptile and exotics shows in the Midwest. This is a family friendly event. Come out to visit the educational tables and take the kids to the entertainment area that includes a live baby Tyrannosaurus rex, face painting, balloon animals and hands-on activities. There are prizes and giveaways for lucky attendees, a live auction and best in show awards for outstanding vendors. V.I.P admission and concessions are also available. Check out the assortment of supplies, frozen and live rodents, supplements, insect feeders, and a wide variety of snakes, lizards, turtles, amphibians and other exotic pets. Tickets are $5.

Paddle With Your Pooch Boat Race: The 13th annual Paddle with your Pooch dog-and-master boat race will be held on Post-Dispatch Lake in Forest Park. Each heat is limited to 23 boats. The entry fee is $40 per dog-and-master team, which includes one t-shirt. Don’t have a dog? No worries! Come on out and cheer for your favorite dog-and-master team. A portion of the proceeds from the race will be donated to Forest Park Forever for maintaining the beauty of the park.

2nd Thursday at Foundry Art Centre: This unique, family-friendly community arts series is open to the public and is free of charge, with nominal fees for the food vendors and the refreshments. The event will also feature live music.

IllumiNite: An evening 5K run and festival featuring live music from Groovethang, tons of food trucks, family fun activities, and a 5K that runs through St. Charles. Registration is $30 in advance or $30 at the run. Proceeds benefit the St. Charles Parks & Recreation Foundation scholarship fund.

Trails For Tails: Join us for Five Acres Animal Shelter’s 18th annual Trails for Tails event. Participate in the 10k, 5k or 1 mile walk, compete in the pet contest, play games with your pet and enjoy the post-race expo. This is a fun family and pet friendly event that raises money for the adoptable dogs and cats at Five Acres. Registration is $35 for 10K, $30 for 5K and 1 mile walk.

Apple Festival: Apple picking season has begun. And what better way to celebrate than with a festival! The Belleville Farm will be hosting live music from The Dusty Brothers this weekend. Along with music, there will be Wagon rides, festival foods including funnel cake and caramel apples, children’s activities, petting zoo, and more. Come out and pick-you-own-apples, enjoy free live music, and fun.
