Memorial Day is a day to honor and remember the men and women who have served our country. It is a day of recognition. This year, many business are doing their part to celebrate these men and women by offering specials and freebies to service members and their families.

The Missouri History Museum, The Magic House, St. Louis Children’s Museum, Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, Saint Louis Art Museum and The Hawken House are joining with over 2,000 museums across the United States for Blue Star Museums, to offer active duty military members and their families free admission this summer. The promotion starts on Memorial Day and runs through Labor Day.

The St. Louis Science Center will be showing D-Day: Normandy 1944. Veterans will receive free admission and families and friends of military veterans will receive the military discount of $6.00, special pricing that is offered to our military and veterans every day of the year.

Home Depot and Lowe’s are both offering 10% off for active duty, veterans and their families on products. It’s a great weekend to buy that new grill for a BBQ, or get some house work done so make sure to take advantage of the special offer.

Hooters is offering 10 free wings for active duty, veterans, and spouses on Memorial Day with drink purchase.

Boston Market will have 50% off all family meals on Monday. Here’s the coupon. They are also offering 10% off any order to all active duty members and veterans.

Stray Rescue of St. Louis is offering a great deal on pet adoption for the whole Memorial Day weekend. All pet adoptions for pets 6 months or older are only $50. That includes the spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, and free training for a year.

All active, reserve, retired and veteran military can receive a General Motors military discount on Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles This offer is good through June 30th. Check out one of your local GM dealers.

 JC Penny is having a Fit for Every Hero promotion. They are offering an extra 20% off select shoes, accessories, home, fine jewelry and apparel items or 10% off furniture, mattresses, custom blinds and watches, to current and former military personnel (and family members).

Domino’s Pizza is offering a week long carryout special beginning on Memorial Day through Sunday, June 1st.  Take home large two-topping pizzas for $5.99 each.  Available via digital, phone and in-store ordering.

Charley’s Grilled Subs is offering  a free grilled sandwich to all active and retired military over the Memorial Day Weekend.
