Whoa, I’m 30

RYAN BDAY2 Today I turn the big 3-0. Crazy to think about. As long as I was successfully able to navigate through my first time flying in 15 years, I am most likely in Minneapolis for a wedding as you read this.

I love making blog posts with lots of videos. Since today’s my birthday, whether you like them or not, you’ll have to be okay with this one.

At 30, I feel like I should have some kind of deep life advice or deep commentary on life, but I really don’t. Instead, I’ll let people who are a lot better with words speak for me.

Even though this song was written by a 24-year old woman, I feel like this is kind of my life being a single 30-year old in Soulard. (No Mom, I’ve never smoked the weed and don’t have any plans to start).

Honestly, I’m much too young to feel this damn old.

I guess I should have some advice for younger folks:

Never put on the “freshman 15”, or the “25 at “25” after that.

Be a great friend. Girlfriends and boyfriends will come and go. Great friends stay with you.

Dating is weird. Or maybe I just don’t understand it. That’s probably mostly it. But when you find that special someone, live like this in that relationship.

Don’t rush into this, but when the time is right, love like this.

We’re all in this together. Live life with an open mind.

We’re all real life humans after all.

We should all love like crazy.

I ain’t never had too much fun and neither should you.

Stay fly and be a rock star in life.

Ryan is a weird dude. He doesn't cook, yet owns a plethora of kitchen gadgets. He rationalized buying a SodaStream while unemployed. He counts Step Up 2: The Streets as one of his favorite movies along with Footloose, Rent, Grease and Paul Blart: Mall Cop. He loves Mizzou but only wants them in the SEC so he can tailgate in Nashville. He owns a ShakeWeight and AbLounger, but still loves him some John Donut and Billie's Fine Foods. You can get more of Ryan at iLoveSoulard.com or just check the stool on the far end of the bar at iTap in Soulard.
