The Awesomeness That Is Halloween

I recently saw the coolest Halloween light show of all time on YouTube and I had to share!

I love Halloween and I love Gangnam Style, and quite frankly, when the two are combined the result can only be one thing: pure awesomeness. Or as someone so perfectly described it in the video’s comment section: “This is made of pure win, wrapped in bacon and deep fried in butter!”

Since we don’t live in Virginia and can’t take a trip to witness this awesome light show live tonight, here’s the next best thing happening in St. Louis tonight:

A party on Trick or Treat Street. Yes, that’s right, the 5300 block of Nottingham in the Southampton neighborhood has earned the name Trick-or-Treat Street because of it’s Halloween awesomeness. Every year, this entire block decks out their houses with cool decorations and hosts thousands of trick-or-treaters from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. If you’re heading out for a night of candy hoarding, this is the place to be!

There are also some cool new Halloween apps to get you in the spirit while you’re at work , school, running errands or getting yourself and/or the kids ready for trick-or-treating tonight. Here are my faves:

Halloween Booth: Take a memorable Halloween photo where you can add a witch hat to your outfit or frame your own pic with skull and cross bones. There are an assortment of options to choose from. The app is $.99 for the iPhone.

Frankenweenie: Take a photo of your pet and spookify it by adding crazy devil eyes, horns or other accessories. You can even add a horror movie themed background. Your friends and family will love it! This app is free for the iPhone.

Halloween City: Something to do while you’re in between trick-or-treaters. Set up your own city where you can pick out what spooky houses you want, then add your choice of spooky characters: zombies, mummies, etc. You can even cross-breed them. If you like Farmville, SimCity, etc, you’ll probably love this app!

Halloween Scary Ringtones: Perfect for those staying home watching scary movies with the kids or significant others. Text your friend to call you right before a scary part in the movie to give them that extra jump! This is also fun to have while you’re getting ready for tonight’s festivities.

Whatever you’re doing, wherever you’re going:

Happy Halloween!

Doesn’t know how to cook and survives pretty much on macaroni and cheese and pizza, so naturally, loves to eat out at restaurants. However, one day when she is married and has a family to cook for, she would love to take cooking classes and learn awesome skills like the chefs on Iron Chef America...as long as she doesn't have to clean the dishes afterwards.
