Apartment 23, My New Favorite Show

So you know I love British humor, but after burning through most of these shows just in time for fall t.v. to start, I wasn’t really looking for anything new to watch.  I don’t even remember how I heard about this show despite it being just a week ago.  What I do remember hearing is that it stars Krysten Ritter (who I loved in Breaking Bad) and if you liked the comedic timing of Better Off Ted(really people, you should have watched this show so it could keep going.) you would like the timing in this one.  Also, no laugh track, which is a big plus to me.  I don’t like being told when I should be laughing.

Don’t trust the B**** in Apartment 23, is witty, fast paced, a little vulgar and a lot outlandish. I’m not going to give you a synopsis of it because they all sound bad to me.  I actually wasn’t sure I would like it; I really wanted to like both Two Broke Girls and  New Girl but neither of them stuck. This one had the same thing going for it, I was a fan of the female lead.  This one has stuck.  It doesn’t feel as forced as the other two.  It is crazy outlandish but somehow still didn’t come off to me as overwritten like those shows.  As a child of the 90’s I appreciate that James Van Der Beek (Dawson) plays himself, well, a caricature of himself.  All in all, so far I am really enjoying the show and since a full season went by without me hearing anything about it, I still have many episodes to watch, another plus.

Check it out.  It is available on Amazon instant streaming
