I checked in at The Taste of Maplewood this past weekend (literally, on Foursquare) – Loved It!

It was much smaller than I anticipated – but still covered everything Maplewood.

Here are a few highlights:

1. Monarch: Fabulous Gumbo Dog!
2. Tiffany’s Diner: deep fried twinkies – hilarious!
3. Ka Ka o: LOVE the chocolate mocha caramels – Amazing!
4. Acero: did not know they were in Maplewood but loved my roasted cauliflower and pancetta pasta in a light oil sauce!  (they could have been a little more friendly though)
5. Music and sun: the bands were great, it didn’t rain, and everyone had on summer attire and brought their adorable dogs out – it doesn’t get better than that!

I wish it was a little larger than one block and that the two groups who were trying to sell weren’t so aggressive – but they had face-painting for the kids and plenty of space to eat and socialize.  I can’t wait to check out more of Maplewood!
