The Pour House for New Year's Eve

Happy 2011!

Yes, I hear you asking, “Why would anyone want to go to a place called the Pour House on New Year’s Eve?”

Because it’s FANTASTIC, and I’ll tell you why!

It’s in an easy location on the 19th block of Washington Avenue, so if you’re already bar hopping on Washington Ave, it’s just a short drive or cab ride away.

It’s fun! They have games galore(my favorite being shuffleboard), but the most talked about is the life-size Jenga which has pieces with phrases such as: drink 1, give 2, etc, so you can turn it into a drinking game.

You can eat. They have a great selection of food, including these delicious, and probably very unhealthy mozzerella sticks. But hey, it’s the last night of the year, treat yourself.

You can drink and be merry. The drinks are far cheaper than most bars on Washington Ave and even better than cheap drinks, there will not be a cover charge! So you may wake up in the morning with some money left in your wallet.

I am a frequent visitor and have participated in the games, food, drinks, music, and fun and I recommend making the Pour House one of your stops on New Year’s Eve. And if you meet Matt and Erin (manager/part owner and his wife), tell them Jessica said Hi and Happy New Year…since I’ll be out of town. Thanks!

Doesn’t know how to cook and survives pretty much on macaroni and cheese and pizza, so naturally, loves to eat out at restaurants. However, one day when she is married and has a family to cook for, she would love to take cooking classes and learn awesome skills like the chefs on Iron Chef America...as long as she doesn't have to clean the dishes afterwards.
