Ricky Gervais Is Bringing David Brent of The Office To Netflix In David Brent: Life on the Road
Ricky Gervais stars in David Brent: Life on the Road, coming to Netflix this month. David Brent was Michael Scott before Michael Scott. The character was the general manager of the Wernham-Hogg paper company in the original British series The Office. When the series was adapted for the United States, Brent became Scott and Wernham-Hogg became Dunder Mifflin.
Gervais, the co-creator-co-writer and co-director of The Office, also played the David Brent character. on-screen. In Life on the Road, a documentary crew catches up with Brent fifteen years after The Office as he’s touring the country with his rock band.
David Brent: Life on the Road premieres on Netflix on February 10.

National Geographic Dives Into Scripted Shows With Genius
The extended trailer for Genius from National Geographic is now available online. Geoffrey Rush, Johnny Flynn and Emily Watson star in this series about Albert Einstein. It’s the first scripted anthology series from the network and is produced by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard. The series is set for an April debut.

Drew Barrymore To Star In Netflix’s Santa Clarita Diet
Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant star Santa Clarita Diet, premiering on Netflix February 3, 2017. Barrymore and Olyphant are real estate agents in California whose lives take a turn when Barrymore’s heart stops beating. . . but she continues living, albeit with a bit of a change in her diet. Nathan Fillion, famous for his roles in Castle and Firefly, is also part of the cast.
