LouFest 2016 drew 50,000+ to Forest Park over the weekend while Beyonce played a show at the Dome at America’s Center.

An estimated 50,000 fans attended LouFest 2016 in Forest Park over the weekend. The headliners for each night both played sets that were very well-received. Chris Stapleton ended Saturday night’s schedule with a 90-minute set. Ms. Lauryn Hill surprised a lot of people by only taking the stage ten minutes late last night for her set. Her reworked classics and overall performance were fairly a highlight of the weekend for many.

Chris Stapleton managed to get himself a sweet picture for his Instagram page with the Farmland Bacon Club statue of him made of bacon.

The Riverfront Times published a beautiful piece of clickbait about why LouFest 2016 sucked. Also, despite reports from the LouFest Music Announements parody account, Beatle Bob was not seen at LouFest on Saturday.

Attendance projections for LouFest 2016 were somewhat in question when Beyoncé announced a St. Louis date after the music festival had already announced their dates. The Queen of the Beehive played a nearly two-hour show in front of a near capacity Dome at America’s Center crowd on Saturday night in downtown St. Louis.

Check out Beyonce performing “Single Ladies” from Saturday night’s show below before it get’s taken down. Oh yea, and one of her backup dancers gets engaged.

Herrera Puts Saint Louis FC Back In The Win Column

Irvin Herrera returned with a flourish for Saint Louis FC on Saturday in San Antonio. The striker netted a hat trick in his first game back from International Duty with El Salvador to propel the club to a 3-1 win. The goals were the first for Herrera since he scored on August 13th against Sacramento in a 4-3 loss.

His 14 goals on the season put him second in the USL’s Golden Boot race in a tie with Jon Chandler Hoffman of Louisville City FC and Sean Okoli of FC Cincinnati. Jack McBean leads the league with 15 goal. He signed with the Los Angeles Galaxy of Major League Soccer at the beginning of the summer and has been loaned to Coventry City FC of League One in England.

Saint Louis FC plays their final home match of the season this Saturday night against rival Louisville City FC. They then travel to Oklahoma City the next weekend for the final match of the regular season.

Check back to this site on Friday for my match preview.

Two Dolphins Have A Conversation

Two dolphins were recently recorded having a conversation. It’s the first time a conversation like this has ever been recorded. The audio research was done by researchers at the Karadag Nature Reserve in Russia. Lead researcher Dr. Vyacheslav Ryabov had this to say:

“Essentially, this exchange resembles a conversation between two people.

“Each pulse that is produced by dolphins is different from another by its appearance in the time domain and by the set of spectral components in the frequency domain.

“In this regard, we can assume that each pulse represents a phoneme or a word of the dolphin’s spoken language.

Jimmy Garoppolo Shines In Tom Brady’s Absence

The start of the NFL regular season marked the start of Tom Brady’s suspension for deflating footballs and pissing off the NFL God. In his absence, Jimmy Garoppolo was under center for the New England Patriots in their season-opener against the Arizona Cardinals.  Garoppolo completed 24 of 33 passes for 264 yards and a touchdown as the Pats pulled out a 23-21 win thanks to a late missed field goal by Arizona.

North Korea Seeking Flood Aid Even After Nuclear Test

Massive flooding has left 100,000 people homeless in North Korea, according to aid workers who were recently allowed into the country. Officials in the country seem to be terrible at life in general so, their initial estimates about the flooding were massively off. They originally estimated 44,000 people had been affected by the flooding. Government officials have said 133 people have been confirmed dead and 395 are missing. Considering their track record, who knows what those numbers actually are. North Korea will now be looking to the rest of the world for disaster aid while simultaneously flipping it the bird.

North Korea conducted a nuclear test last Friday, which is something they aren’t supposed to be doing. The test doesn’t necessarily mean they are capable of launching a nuclear warhead on a missile, according to The Washington Post. South Korea is said to be preparing for the North to conduct another test soon. There are talks of more sanctions by President’s Obama’s administration and other world leaders. North Korean leaders have called talk of sanctions “laughable.”
