Team USA Women’s Gymnastics Team Explains “Final Five” Nickname
Bob Costas interviewed the U.S. women’s gymnastics team shortly after they took gold in the team competition at the Rio Olympics. Aly Raisman explained that the team picked its “Final Five” nickname in part as a nod to coach Marta Karolyi, who is retiring after Rio. This will also be the last Olympic gymnastics team made up of five members. Beginning with the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, teams will be made up of four gymnasts.
