St. Louis Cardinals Get New Cooking Trailer

The St. Louis Cardinals begin Spring Training this Friday. Jason Heyward is of course the most hyped new toy in the team’s arsenal  but he isn’t the shiniest. The team’s chef, Tony Lusky, gets to play with that toy. The team has rented Lusky a 40-foot commercial cooking trailer to cook from this spring after having him cook under a tent outside the clubhouse last year. The trailer lets Lusky and his team spread out with 25 feet of space to cook and a 12-shelf Ole Hickory Pit barbecue smoker. The team has been on quite the nutrition kick in recent years. Lusky is also planting a garden in at the team’s stadium in Jupiter to grow vegetables and herbs for his cooking. Adam Wainwright has helped Lusky with the gardening, which uses plastic tubs filled with dirt and a watering system pulled from Pinterest. Chris Door, the owner of Paddy O’s, is leasing the trailer to the team. Lusky says that he is working with Strange Donuts on a healthier donut for the players and staff.
