I love this time of year in St. Louis! There are so many free events and activities. And with the kids being out of school, it’s not always easy to entertain them at home. Now worries, St. Louis has just what you need. It turns out there is a free event that is perfect for the family every day this week. Here’s the list:

shrek

The Muny in Forest Park is playing Shrek at 8:15pm. Free tickets will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Make sure you bring a blanket to sit on. The Muny also installed new fans this year that are quiet and help with the heat. There are free shows through the first week in August with each week featuring a different musical.

There is something new and fun at The Missouri History Museum almost every day. Currently, the museum is hosting the Summer Family Fun Series. On Tuesday from 10:30am-12pm, there will be a camp-out with a campfire, games, crafts and musical entertainment from Mark-O-Polo. Stick around for ‘Getting Dressed: Inside out in Football’, a special, one-person performance at 2pm.

Every Wednesday from June 5th to August 7th, you can enjoy music at the Missouri Botanical Garden. On Wednesday, June 26th Ransom Note will be playing. Their music style is smooth soul meets arena rock. Free admission starts at 5:00pm with the concert starting at 7:30pm. My family personally likes to bring dinner and wine and enjoy a fantastic picnic in the garden. There are kids running around and it makes for a great family atmosphere. There are a few rules you should know before you go: No pets, grills, open flames, smoking, standard tables, balloons or banners.
