We have had such a fun year writing stories about St. Louis!  Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to share our passion with you.  We look forward to another crazy year in St. Louis, WooHoo 2012!

2011 marked the year for “Winning” (thanks Charlie Sheen), the end of Harry Potter, Oprah’s goodbye, the Royal Wedding, the death of Osama Bin Laden, end of the Iraq War, disaster in Japan, and much more.  At least for the rest of the world (ok us too)!  Apparently in St. Louis, 2011 was consumed with mostly food (frequently from trucks), festivals, and the World Series…  You’ve gotta love St. Louis!  Here are the 11 most popular St. Louis Neighborhood stories from 2011.  Enjoy – again!

  1. Food Truck Friday – The new phenomenon in St. Louis is food from a truck!  Hosted by Sauce Magazine, these were some of the most highly attended events this year.  If you haven’t experienced Food Truck Friday, keep your eyes peeled for dates in 2012!
  2. Why St. Louis Doesn’t Need an IKEA – Apparently, many people believe St. Louis does need an IKEA…what are your thoughts?
  3. Taste of St. Louis – Here starts the festival craze in St. Louis.  We love any excuse to drink, eat, and get festive in public!
  4. Soulard Oktoberfest – We love our lederhosen and German beer!
  5. Pumpkin Cheesecake Bites – Combining our love for food with our new love pinterest!  Great Fall recipe so make sure to check it out.
  6. Forest Park Balloon Race – This is a St. Louis classic and pretty spectacular to see! 
  7. Who Love Fireworks – St. Louis also has a great traditions for the 4th of July!  There were so many places to catch firework displays we could hardly fit them into one post.
  8. My Favorite Websites, Funky Shopping Edition – We also like to give funky gifts…everyone needs a Borat Mankini!
  9. Coolest Places to Watch the World Series – Probably the most exciting thing in St. Louis this year was our beloved Cardinals coming from behind to take our 11th World Series win in 2011!  What an amazing time to be a Cardinal Fan! 
  10. Where Did You Go To High School? – The truth behind the popular St. Louis question.  Let’s leave this one in 2011 – agreed?
  11. Columbus Day Parade and Festival – St. Louis loves Italian food, bocce ball…and meatball eating contests!
