Now that the sun is out…the Spillway is an awesome place to go!

I moved to Southern Illinois from Florida almost two years ago. When I first went to the spillway, I felt like I was on vacation. There was still water at the base, and then random small “falls” in the center, and water to swim in at the top. My favorite was sitting on the rocks underneath one of the miniature falls. The sound of the rushing water and the feel of it against your back is completely invigorating.

The Spillway is in Murphysboro which is only about fifteen minutes from Carbondale. It is definitely worth the drive and time!
