MoviePass Now $9.95 Per Month To See A Movie A Day In Theaters

MoviePass Is Now $9.95 Per Month

MoviePass has sold a majority stake in the company to Helios and Matheson Analtyics Inc. With the sale,  CEO Mitch Lowe announced a new $9.95 monthly plan. The plan will allow customers to see a movie in theaters every 24 hours at participating theaters. Plans previously started at $14.95 per month and ranged up to $50 per month.

MoviePass allows you just see an unlimited numbers of movies in theaters for just $9.95 per month.

I used MoviePass for a year and loved it. At the time I was paying $30 a month for the pass. The only reason I stopped my membership was because I moved to a place where I didn’t have as many theaters options close by.

At $9.95 per month and the ability to cancel any time, MoviePass seems like a no-brainer to me. I’ll definitely be signing back up even though I don’t have as many options as I once did. I love the theater experience and even seeing 2 movies a month would make this pass worth it.

Lowe claims that 91% of movie theaters in the United States participate in the MoviePass program. My favorite theaters to use my Pass at were MX Movies in downtown St. Louis and the AMC Esquire 7 on Clayton Road.

News of the acquisition and lowered plan price come amid reports of falling theater revenues during the summer movie season.

In the St. Louis area, Marcus Theaters recently announced the upcoming renovation of six theaters in the area. Marcus Theaters recently purchased St. Louis-based Wehrenberg Theaters.
