STL Weekend Events: November 10-13

The St. Louis Weekend Events Guide for Thursday, November 10 through Sunday, November 13, 2016.

Girls on the Run 5K: A community run empowering girls for a life of healthy living. Proceeds benefit the Girls on the Run Scholarship Fund. Registration is $30 ($20 children) in advance or $35 day of ($25 children). If you’re not interested in running or walking, come out and join the cheer stations to encourage the runners. There will be t-shirts and merchandise available and a runner’s village and awards ceremony in Solder’s Memorial Park.

Maxwell & Mary J Blige: These two talented soul singers are on the road as part of their King + Queen of Hearts World Tour with singer Ro James, the newcomer behind the R&B hit single “Permission,” joining the duo as a special guest. Mary J has 9 Grammy awards and is ranked as the most successful female R&B artist of the past 25 years by Billboard. The sexy, soulful Maxwell joins her to heat up the show with hits like “Fortunate” and “Pretty Wings.”

Stop Light Party: Take out the guesswork, this is the party that tells you straight from the start whether that person you’ve been checking out is single, unsure or taken just by they’re status-indicating glow-sticks! Wear red if you’re in a relationship, yellow if you’re unsure but still ready to party, and green if you’re single and ready to mingle! Forget to dress the part? No worries! Color-coordinated glow sticks will be provided! DJ Too-Tall and the world famous Buckle Bunnies will be providing your party entertainment all night long.

Circus Harmony’s 4th Annual Juggling Ball: A night of daring, dining, drinking and dancing with an awesome auction, marvelous music and exceptional entertainment, helping to support the flying children of Circus Harmony to defy gravity and other limitations! Tickets are $75.

She’s Got Jokes: A fierce all women comedy jam featuring comedians: Jamie’E Elizabeth, Karen Nelson, Precious J, and the One and Only Ms. Tiffany J. Tickets are $10.

Steel Magnolias: Put on by the Kirkwood Theater Guild, this classic story of a close-knit group of deeply-Southern women who find comfort and strength in each other while they discuss relationships and loneliness, happiness and loss is a heartwarming, hilarious, and bitter-sweet story about the special bond that enables these women to find their ways past life’s obstacles using humor, compassion, love…and a lot of hairspray. Directed by Kasey Cox, Assisted by Danny Austin.

Schlafly Great Pumpkin Festival: Celebrate the harvest full moon with Schlafly beer, a pig roast, live music and fall themed activities! Come howl at the moon with us at Schlafly Bottleworks and fill up on all your favorite styles like Pumpkin Ale, Hard Apple Cider, Coffee Stout & more. Come hungry, because we will be roasting 6 hogs throughout the night! Expect food collaborations, a bonfire and other fall festivities. Free and open to the public. Live entertainment includes: Freedom Percussion Drumline, South County Family YMCA Dance Team, Muny Kids, Kelly’s Kuties, The Professional Dance Center, and Stages Triple Threats.

An Evening With Jerry Lewis: Enjoy the “King of Comedy:, Jerry Lewis, as he shares incredible stories, tells timeless jokes and shows clips from his most iconic films and from special moments throughout his life and career. Ample time is allowed for the audience to ask Jerry questions. This is truly a walk through history with a Hollywood legend. Tickets are $50-$80.

AutumnFest: John A. Logan College once again hosts its 41st annual arts & crafts show. This annual juried event for will host over 100 exhibitors from throughout southern and central Illinois and surrounding states with orginal handcrafted arts, crafts, jewelry, toys, purses, clothing, home decor accessories, holiday decor, specialty foods, and more. Admission is free.
