When Beyoncé initially released her Lemonade album, fans were a little surprised to hear a country track among the songs. Count Alsion Bonaguro of CMT among those who don’t consider “Daddy Lessons” to be a country song.

The song definitely sounds like it qualifies as a country song when Natalie Maines is singing the lead vocals. That happened over the weekend when The Dixie Chicks covered it during a concert in Manchester, England.

Check out the performance below.

While the footage is far from the best, here is Beyoncé singing the song during a recent stop in Miami on her Formation World Tour.

Even when Beyoncé sings the song, it sure seems like it would fit right in on country radio. Even her outfit there would seem to fit right in at a country music awards show.

What do you think about Beyoncé’s new song? Is it “country” enough for you?

P.S. The Dixie Chicks are coming to St. Louis on August 24, 2016 for a show at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre.
