Remember Them Today

I live in a country where I am able to express my views  and beliefs freely; without retribution.  Since the beginning of this country we’ve had heroes that fought for these freedoms, our freedom to say what we want, to have our own views.  No matter the cause, these special people stand up and say, “I will go, I will fight; I will lay down my life, for my country, for my fellow Americans”.   Because of this, I Remember Them Today.

An American soldier is a true hero. They walk away from their loved ones so we can hold our loved ones at night. People protest against them; they fight and die to keep those same people free.  No one likes going to war, no one.  But there are a select few that will go because they feel it is their duty.  It is my duty to honor those people.

Starting with the Revolutionary War, America has lost 848,163 soldiers in combat alone. 848,163 brave soldiers gave everything for us, ALL of us.

Today we need to take time out from the swimming, the picnics, and the shopping to remember that a soldier fought and died for these freedoms we sometimes take for granted. They were someone’s, mom, dad, husband, wife, sister, brother, son, daughter, they are hero’s…

Honor Our Military

Let’s honor our military,
The men and women who serve,
Whose dedication to our country Does not falter, halt or swerve.

Let’s respect them for their courage;
They’re ready to do what’s right
To keep America safe,
So we can sleep better at night.

Let’s support and defend our soldiers,
Whose hardships are brutal and cruel,
Whose discipline we can’t imagine,
Who follow each order and rule.

Here’s to those who choose to be warriors
And their helpers good and true;
They’re fighting for American values;
They’re fighting for me and you.
