Columbus Day Parade & Festival 2012

The Hill is hosting the annual Columbus Day Parade and Festival on Sunday, October 14, 2012.  The parade kicks off at noon at Shaw School at the corner of Macklind and Columbia and it winds through the neighborhood ending at Berra Park for a fantastic Italian festival (ending at 6:00pm).  The festival will include live music by Dr. Zhevegas and Joe Tucci, Italian food, and fun activities like the super popular pasta toss.  Did I mention all the food is from the amazing Italian restaurants on The Hill and they will have gelato?  Joe Boccardi’s is even hosting a meatball eating contest with really great prizes if you claim the title! Do you really need a prize with a title like Meatball Eating Champ 🙂  The most exciting thing outside of the food will be Bocce Ball!  If you haven’t played I highly suggest you try it out – totally fun and addictive!

Bring the kids out for a great day on The Hill and pretend you get a day off work Monday for Columbus Day!  We will have our Italian flag flying!
