Pink is In!

Once a year, St. Louis breaks records. Once a year, everyone comes out in support. Once a year, St. Louis is turned pink in support of a cure for breast cancer!

The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is Saturday, June 23 in Downtown St. Louis.  Here is a link to all the Race Day information.

It’s hard to picture the enormity of this event. Between 60,000-70,000 people converge on Downtown STL on one Saturday morning. Yes, that’s the right number of zeros people! Now, I’m not a crowd person. Usually I try to go for the smaller events, but this one is worth it. I have never felt so much care, support, or positivity in one place. There are high fives, hugs, and tears. Everyone is joined together for a positive goal!

This cause is near and dear to my heart. My grandmother was diagnosed and now we know that the women in our family are considered at risk. I urge every woman out there to get tested. Get the girls pushed, smashed, and squished (in a mammography machine) and keep doing your self exams. Early detection is the key.

Come join us! If you have to work, are out of town, or just can’t make it, join Sleep In for the Cure!
