Naked Bike Ride!

Is this even legal?

The World Naked Bike Ride St. Louis is this Saturday, June 11th.

From what I gather, this ride started in 2008 in protest to high gas prices and oil dependency. They’re also promoting cycling awareness and positive body image. All participants are strongly encouraged (if not required) to ride their bike, roller blades, etc or take public transportation to the event, and of course, to go “as bare as they dare.” Sounds like a fun way to promote eco-friendly travel, and in response to Melissa’s recent post: Are we a car only city? I think they’re with you on this!

Pre-ride festivities include live music and body painting(maybe you could just have them paint clothes on your body so you don’t feel naked…).

Where: South City beginning in the parking lot behind Commerce Bank off Grand Ave, rides through South City, and ends at Atomic Cowboy and HandleBar for the after-party!

Time: Pre-festivities begin at 7pm, ride begins at 9pm

Their motto: keep on biking, keep on being naked, and see you next summer!
