Just Call Me Caesar

I moved to St. Louis about 10 months ago and live in South City, where every row of houses has an alley behind it. In just the last 6 months, I’ve managed to randomly find and return to their owners, 3 runaway dogs roaming around in my alley.

Besides that, I stopped at the St. Louis Bread Company 2 blocks from my house the other day, and ended up having to wait 2 hours to eat my delicious broccoli and cheddar soup, as instead, I got held up rescuing a kitten trapped in the inner workings of a car engine.

And several times, on the way back from visits on the Illinois side, I’ve called Stray Rescue for dogs that are running around along the side of the highway.

I’m not sure why all the stray/runaway animals follow me around St. Louis, but being an animal lover, I could never walk away and leave a stranded animal.

My friends all think I’m crazy and tell me they don’t have chance encounters with stray animals but I just wonder, is everyone just passing them by, not even noticing them or caring?
