If Only I Were a Bear…

Don't want to be that guy

Winter has finally arrived here in St. Louis, and with it comes frigid winds, snow, and ice, of which I am not a fan.  Sure, it’s pretty when we’re inside looking at it through a window, but when we actually have to go out in it, to work, school, grocery shopping, etc, it becomes a hassle.  I, for one, want to spend as little time as possible outside during these bitter cold months.  When I head off to work in the icy wintery morning, I don’t want to first have to shovel snow off my sidewalk and driveway, or put down salt so I don’t slip. I want to open my door, run (and when I say run, I mean run) to my car, jump inside, and turn on the heat. And that’s exactly what I do.

Yep, I live in an apartment, and when you live in an apartment, it is someone else’s responsibility to take care of snow and ice removal, lawn care, and maintenance repairs, all items of which I have no interest in. Yes, one day I may have a family and live in a house where I will have to mow a lawn, pull weeds, and take care of day-to-day maintenance tasks(I’m scowling just thinking about it), but for now, I will bask in the luxury of apartment living.
