Stranger Things Returns To Netflix Today With Season 2

It’s time to finally go back to Hawkins, Indiana.

It’s been more than a year since we were first introduced to friends Will, Dustin, Lucas and Mike. More than a year since we first met Eleven and, of course Barb, in season one of Stranger Things.   Early this morning, all nine episodes making up season two of Stranger Things were released on Netflix.

Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) still has reasons to be worried about her son and his friends. Police Chief Jim Hopper (David Harbour) still has strange things going on in his town and the need to keep secrets.

As Matt Duffer puts it, the sequel to season one  is here with the release of Stranger Things 2.

Season 2 of Stranger Things is now streaming on Netflix.

In case you need a primer on where things stand in the fictional Indiana town and don’t have the time to re-watch season one, Vogue has a nice primer to get you up to speed.

If you are worried that the nine episodes of season 2 (one more than season 1) won’t be enough for you, Netflix has you covered. The streaming network is releasing a seven-episode post-show show tomorrow as well. Beyond Stranger Things will be hosted by Jim Rash, a self-described “superfan” of the show as well as a writer, producer and actor. The show is being billed as a beyond-the-scenes look at the show for those fans that just can’t get enough.

Netflix strongly suggests that viewers watch all nine episodes of season 2 before beginning Beyond.

Still don’t think that will be enough? Then you definitely need to check out this new line of clothing from Loungefly.

What Can We Expect In Season 2?

Most of the cast from season one returns, with the exception of Shannon Purser as Barb.

The first episode of season two opens with Finn Wolfhard (Mike), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas) and Noah Schnapp (Will) at an arcade because of course it does. Although set a year after the events of season one, it is still the ’80s after all.

Fans will see a lot more of Noah Schnapp this season, according to reports from people that were treated to early showings. Schnapp’s character, Will,  was trapped in the parallel universe known as the “Upside Down” for much of last season. Viewers will see how Will’s time in the universe affected him.

One of the trailers released ahead of season two’s release revealed that Mille Bobby Brown returns. How did Eleven escape the Upside Down?

Guess you’ll have to watch season 2 of Stranger Things on Netflix to find out. Check out the intense final trailer for the season below.

When Does Season 3 Of Stranger Things Come Out?

While a third season with Eleven and company hasn’t been confirmed by Netflix yet, series creators Matt and Ross Duffer have confirmed it in interviews.
