DOWNTOWN WEEKEND EVENTS

An Evening with Alison Krauss and David Gray: Alison Krauss effortlessly bridges the gap between roots music and genres such as pop, rock, country and classical. She has released 14 albums and has sold more than 12 million records to date. With 27 wins, she is the most awarded female artist in GRAMMY history. David Gray has established himself as one of the UK’s leading artists both at home and overseas with a 25-year career marked by critical praise, numerous accolades and multi-platinum sales over the course of 10 album releases. Tickets start at $72.

St. Louis Blues: The Cardinals season has ended. Bring on the Blues! The Blues Home Opener against the Dallas Stars. All fans will receive a 2017-2018 Blues calendar. There will be a pre-game rally starting at 5pm. There will also be a Blue Note 5K in Forest Park at 9am. Enjoy appearances from Blues Alumni and Louie, and the event will be DJed by Blues hypeman Tony Patrico. Every finisher will receive a free T-shirt and medal.

12th Annual Bar Bounce: A bar crawl in Soulard to benefit Angels’ Arms foster families. Registration is $45 and includes mystery team t-shirt color and beer at all bars on your team’s route. Participating bars include: 1860’s, Carson’s, Duke’s, Hammerstone’s, Harpo’s, Henry’s, Joanie’s, Llewelyn’s, Mollys, and Great Grizzly Bear.

Memorabilia Day: Do you have some sports memorabilia that you would love to show off to the St. Louis sports crazies? From 11:00am – 2:00pm see St. Louis locals show off their finest collectibles, antiques, and memorabilia items in the heart of St. Louis baseball heaven! Buy, sell, trade and admire all of the finest memorable items. Everything from baseball and football to hockey and auto racing will be on display! Admission is free and to reserve your spot is a small reservation fee!

Das Bevo Centennial/Oktoberfest Celebration: Come drink beer where beer barons once kicked back and enjoy a fun filled weekend of live music, games, and entertainment. There will be live music in the Biergarten including: Cree Rider Band, Waterlook German Band, Beer Choir, Salt of the Earth, Riverside Wanderers, and more, a Beer Stein Holding Contest, a yodeling contest, and a best dressed costume contest, a family area featuring Bubble Bus face painters, and tons of beer and food tents.

Art styles include: Clay, Digital Drawing, Pastels, Fiber Art Glass, Jewelry, Mixed Media, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, Woodwork, and more. Visitors and artists will enjoy the festive atmosphere that includes live music, a food court featuring food from many local restaurants, and a children’s art area.

Grove Fest: Grove Fest, the fun, independent, wild, eclectic yearly festival in STL’s Grove neighborhood will return for its 12th year. This family friendly event will feature a kids zone, street performers, live music, and amazing food and drinks from local Grove businesses. If you’re in the mood to shop there will be no shortage of crafts, fashion, and art for purchase from local artist and vendors. Want to be an artist for the day? Don’t forget to stop by and help paint the 12th annual paint-by-numbers outdoor wall mural, a Grove Fest tradition.

Cat Videos Live!: A feline film, cat comedy event and social gathering for all ages. Cat Videos Live! provides a genuine atmosphere for animal lovers to experience the cat video phenomenon – together. Cat Videos Live! and CatVideos.com have partnered to bring exclusive content to the big screen. In addition, Cat Videos Live! is a forum for cat video creators to showcase their cats. ST. CHARLES WEEKEND EVENTS

Renaissance Festival: This long standing event that brings you adventure, excitement, and the spirit of the Renaissance returns for it’s 18th season. Travel back in time as you step into the beautifully wooded, 16th century French village we call Petit Lyon! Thrill to the exploits of Jousting Knights on thundering steeds. Roam the village shoppes for unique crafts as our artisans demonstrate period skills like blacksmithing and woodworking. Delight in comedy, music, magic, and more on our nine stages of non-stop entertainment! Feast on delicious food and drink from the far reaches of the globe, and interact with the colorful villagers, nobles, peasants and characters of ages past! This weekend’s theme is Oktoberfest. Enjoy strolling through the German Village, the stein holding contest, Hammerschlagen, Sauerkraut Eating Contest, beard competition, and keg toss.

ILLINOIS WEEKEND EVENTS

Belleville Chili Cook-Off: This is truly the best fall event of all the events. Better than Oktoberfest, Halloween, everything. Head over the river to Belleville for 2 days of mouth-watering chili from over 60 local vendors. It’s not just chili , there’s funnel cakes, ribbon fries, corn dogs, nachos, deep fried twinkies, chili cheese dogs, root beer floats, corn on the cob…heaven in your mouth. In addition, there are beer tents and live entertainment including bands: FanFare, Smash Band, Starlifter, and Queens Blvd, and a Chili Chase 5K on Saturday morning.

FENTON WEEKEND EVENTS

Saint Louis FC: Saint Louis FC takes on the Richmond Kickers at World Wide Technology Soccer Park in Fenton. The match is the club’s last home match of the 2017 United Soccer League season.  General admission tickets are available starting at just $10 at SaintLouisFC.com
