DOWNTOWN WEEKEND EVENTS

Craftoberfest: St. Louis’ first open-air night market showcasing the best in modern craft + design. Returning for our 6th year, Craftoberfest 2017 will feature over 35 local makers, designers, curators + creative entrepreneurs, as well as locally brewed craft beer, live music, and Tarot readings under the stars and twinkling lights of Urban Chestnut’s Midtown Brewery + Biergarten. Special appearances by Mission Taco Truck + Tarot St. Louis.

Soulard Oktoberfest: Two days of authentic German fare and beers, a wine garden, human Glockenspiel, feet-stomping music, a market with German goods, and a large beer tent with a unique beer selection and full German dinners. Authentic German music includes: Falling Fences, Deutschmeister Band, Die Spitzbuam, ÜberCool, Terry Thompson & Bavarian Stompers, and Good Times Band. Bierhall Tent tickets are $20 and include: an official 1 Liter Soulard Oktoberfest stein, access to the Bierhall, which includes a premium selection of beer, access to German culinary favorites not available in the general admission area, deluxe VIP restrooms and also great entertainment from bands playing exclusively in the tent.

Arch Bark: Free and open to the public dog friendly event kicks off with the Paws on the Pavement 1-mile fun walk that people can participate in with their dogs while exploring the great new features of the park. There will be an agility course and a K-9 demonstration, dock diving show, and Bark Talks from Danielle Smith of Pretty Extraordinary (12pm), National Park Service Bark Ranger Program(1pm), and Canine Companions: Serving our Service Men & Women (1:30pm). Enjoy food trucks and live music from Dance Floor Riot.

Pixies: The Pixies, an American alternative rock band with hits including: “Monkey Gone To Heaven,” “Velouria” and “Dig for Fire, ” are coming to St. Louis on their North American Tour promoting their latest album, Head Carrier. Tickets start at $36.50.

Rock ‘n’ Roll St. Louis Marathon: Run the 5K on Saturday, or the 10K or half marathon, on Sunday. Plus enjoy three days of health & fitness expo which features the latest in running technologies, fitness apparel, health & nutrition information and interactive displays. Close out the weekend with a finish line festival with music from Fastball. There will also be musical entertainment and spirit teams along the course to keep you motivated.

CENTRAL WEEKEND EVENTS

8th Annual Hot Metals Show: The original works of 25 Midwest Metalsmith member local artists ranging from one-of-a-kind statement jewelry to sculpture and more in a broad range of styles and materials at various price points. Consult and discuss commission work with artists. A $50.00 Shopping Coupon Drawing will happen each day; 6 pm 10/13 & 1:00 pm 10/14. Must be present to win.

5th Annual Brew in the Lou: Join 103.3 KLOU and FOX 2 News at the 5th annual Brew in the Lou. Wristbands include unlimited tastings of St. Louis’ best beer, wine, spirits, coffee and good eats. Live music, shopping and much more. Festivities include live entertainment, arts and craft vendors, the “People’s Choice” Home Brew, Bratwurst and Chili Contest, and special food exhibits. Tickets are $40 in advance or $50 day of. Proceeds benefit 35 member schools serving 9,000 students in the Greater St. Louis area.

ST. CHARLES WEEKEND EVENTS

2nd Thursday at Foundry Art Centre: Living Art – Harvest: For our final 2nd Thursday, we are celebrating the nourishment the earth brings through food! We will create stamps out of fruit and vegetables and celebrate the season of harvest by making artwork. Artists will also utilize food in their art-making projects or focus on food imagery as they lead visitors through art-making projects.

Renaissance Festival: This long standing event that brings you adventure, excitement, and the spirit of the Renaissance returns for it’s 18th season. Travel back in time as you step into the beautifully wooded, 16th century French village we call Petit Lyon! Thrill to the exploits of Jousting Knights on thundering steeds. Roam the village shoppes for unique crafts as our artisans demonstrate period skills like blacksmithing and woodworking. Delight in comedy, music, magic, and more on our nine stages of non-stop entertainment! Feast on delicious food and drink from the far reaches of the globe, and interact with the colorful villagers, nobles, peasants and characters of ages past! This weekend’s theme is Sweet Endings & Steampunk. Indulge your sweet tooth this weekend at our Sweet Endings weekend featuring local chocolatiers and wineries! Participate in one of our many sweet events held all weekend including a chocolate pie eating contest and FREE wine tastings. We also have Steampunk! Come dressed in steampunk costume and enter into our costume contest!

Rock of the ’70s Tour: Foghat, Jefferson Starship, Atlanta Rhythm Section, and Pure Prairie League rock the ’70s. Foghat’s live show is as intense as ever with the incredible energy and musicianship that one would expect and hope for from a seasoned band with such a long musical history and they are bringing their fans along for the ride. Foghat fans are everywhere and these days their audience consists of all ages. From the young kids who play Guitar Hero III and know all of the lyrics to ‘Slow Ride’, to the Dazed & Confused generation of 30-40 somethings and the ‘boomers’ who bought Foghat’s first vinyl or 8 track! Tickets start at $35.
