Bladerunner 2049 opens tonight at MX Movies. It and Kingsman: The Golden Circle are also showing this weekend at at the movie theater in downtown St. Louis.

Recapping Last Weekend

Kingsman: The Golden Circle took the weekend box office crown by a hair last weekend over It, in its fourth weekend of release. The Kingsman sequel brought in $16.936 million in its second weekend of release. It also crossed the $16.9 million mark last weekend.

American Made came in with a debut just shy of $16.8 million over the weekend.  Flatliners cleared $6.5 million in its debut.

Opening This Weekend

Blade Runner 2049

Blade Runner 2049, starring Ryan Gosling, Ana de Armas and Harrison Ford,  hits theaters this weekend riding some lofty reviews. The sequel to the 1982 Ridley Scott sci-fi film featured scripts that were locked in safes when they weren’t in use.

2049 has a run-time of nearly 3 hours.  The New Yorker calls it “confounding and confusing” in a review of the film and also praises the beauty of the film.

Todd M. Thatcher predicts an opening weekend of $44.1 million for Blade Runner 2049 this weekend.

My Little Pony: The Movie

Emily Blunt, Kristin Chenoweth, Uzo Aduba and Taye Diggs are among the stars that lend their voices to My Little Pony: The Movie.

The Daily Herald says this pony adventure is “awash in sweetness and sparkle.

Lauren Orsini talked with Anthony Di Ninno, the film’s cinematographer, for Forbes about the making of the film.

Idris Elba and Kate Winslet star in The Mountain Between Us, a cold climate love story/disaster flick opening in movie theaters this weekend.

As Vox points out in its review of this film, if you have fantasies about Idris Elba this film is for you.

Logan Lucky, Wind River and Leap! open at Keller 8 Cinema in South County this weekend.

Make It A Redbox Night With Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman is now available to rent at your local Redbox.

Gal Gadot’s turn as Wonder Woman was a massive success for everyone involved over the summer. Gadot drew positive reviews in the starring role. Patty Jenkins earned well-deserved praise in the director’s seat and the film brought in more than $820 million worldwide.
