It and Home Again open in movie theaters around St. Louis this weekend.  See It at MX Movies in downtown St. Louis.  Rough Night, All Eyez On Me and Megan Leavey are now available to rent at your local Redbox.

It opens at MX Movies in downtown St. Louis on Friday night. Annabelle: Creation is also playing at MX Movies this weekend.

Recapping Last Weekend

The Hitman’s Bodyguard maintained it’s spot atop the weekend box office chart over the Labor Day Weekend. The film starring Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, Salma Hayek and Gary Oldman took the top spot for the third weekend in a row with receipts just shy of $13.3 million.

Annabelle: Creation brought in $9 million over the Labor Day Weekend to pass the $90 million mark at the domestic box office.

Tulip Fever debuted to $1.4 million over the holiday weekend on just 765 screens.

A re-release of Close Encounters of the Third Kind to mark the film’s 40th anniversary brought in more than $2.2 million on 901 screens.

Stephen King’s horror masterpiece is coming to the big screen this weekend.  Bill Skarsgard stars as Pennywise, the terrifying clown from King’s novel that Tim Curry portrayed in the 1990 mini-series.

Andy Muschietti directs the film based on a screenplay from Chase Palmer, Cary Fukunaga and Gary Dauberman.

Todd M. Thatcher predicts an opening weekend of $65.4 million for It this weekend.

Home Again

Hallie Meyers-Shyer gets her first writing and directing credits this weekend with the release of Home Again, starring Reese Witherspoon.

Hallie Meyers-Shyer is the daughter of writers Nancy Meyers and Charles Shyer. As a child, she appeared in The Parent Trap and Father of the Bride, which were both written by her parents. Other movies written by her parents include Private Benjamin, The Intern, The Holiday and I Love Trouble.

This romantic comedy from the 29-year old writer/director also stars Candice Bergen, as Witherspoon’s mother, and Pico Alexander, Nat Woolf and Jon Rudnitzky as three aspiring young filmmakers that stay in Witherspoon’s guest house. Witherspoon’s character is a mother of two who has recently split from her husband, played by Michael Sheen.

Todd M. Thatcher predicts an opening weekend of $11.3 million for Home Again.

Make It A Redbox Night With Rough Night

Thinking you would rather stay home and rent a movie this weekend? Rough Night, All Eyez On Me and Megan Leavey are among the movies new to rent at your local Redbox this week.

Also available to rent this week is First Kill starring Hayden Christensen and Bruce Willis.

For some good laughs we reccomend Rough Night. Scarlett Johansson, Jillian Bell, Zoe Kravitz, Ilana Glazer and Kate McKinnon star as five girlfriends who accidently kill a male stripper.
