Saint Louis FC Welcomes Cross-State Rivals Swope Park Rangers This Saturday To Soccer Park

Saint Louis FC is back at home this Saturday as they host the Swope Park Rangers on August 5 at Toyota Stadium at World Wide Technology Soccer Park. Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at SaintLouisFC.com or by calling 636-680-0997. The club is running a flash sale today were fans can purchase a general admission ticket and a drink ticket for just $15.

Saint Louis FC, led by head coach Preki, will look to build on their win last weekend at Richmond as they attempt to claw back into the United Soccer League’s Eastern Conference playoff race. Swope Park, the Kansas City based affiliate of Major League Soccer, Sporting Kansas City, come into this weekend’s contest in third place in the USL’s Western Conference.

Last Time Out For Saint Louis FC

STLFC earned a valuable three points last Saturday in Virginia. In front of 2,622 fans at City Stadium, Emmanuel Appiah scored the lone goal and the visitors prevailed 1-0. The victory was the second road USL win of the season for Saint Louis and the  first for the club since Apil.

Adam Grinwis picked up the clean sheet for STLFC.

Appiah was named to the USL Team of the Week for his performance against Richmond.

Volesky Returns, Stojkov To Miss Match

Preki will be without the services of Dragan Stojkov Saturday. The yellow card the midfielder was shown against Richmond means he will serve a one-match suspension for yellow card accumulation.

Christian Volesky  will return to the lineup this week after serving a one-match suspension last weekend. The forward was suspended after receiving a straight red card for a dangeous play against Louisville City two weeks ago.

Milan Petosevic started in place of Volesky against Richmond.

Maher and Musa Return As Rangers

Parker Maher and James Musa, who each made at least 50 appearances for STLFC during its first two years of existence, will return to St. Louis this weekend as members of the Swope Park Rangers. Both players have played in 17 league matches this season for SPR with Musa starting and playing the full 90 minutes in 17 matches and Maher starting 12 matches.

Kharlton Belmar leads Swope Park in scoring with six goals on the season.

STLFC To Host MLS All-Star Game Watch Party

Saint Louis FC will host a watch party for the MLS All-Star Game tonight at Helen Fitzgerald’s. The party will start at 7:30 pm with STLFC players and members of the front office in attendance. Prizes , including tickets and club apparel, will be handed out throughout the evening to those in attendance.

Helen Ftizgerald’s is located at 3650 S. Lindbergh Blvd.

Hollywood Casino Added To Pub 2 Park Lineup

Hollywood Casino has been added to STLFC’s Pub 2 Park lineup. The club offers free shuttles to and from each home match. Along with the addition of Hollywood Casino, shuttles run from Molly’s In Soulard, Amsterdam Tavern, Smugala’s Pizza in Sunset Hills and Hotshots in Fenton.

For Saturday’s contest, the shuttles from Molly’s, Smugala’s and Amsterdam will leave at 6 pm. The shuttle from Hollywood Casino will leave at 5:45 pm with  6: 15 pm departure set for the Hotshots in Fenton shuttle.

All USL matches are streamed live on YouTube. Saturday’s match is also one of several this season that will be shown on KPLR 11 in the St. Louis metro area. All home matches can be heard on 550 KTRS with Jim Heuer and legendary soccer announcer Bill McDermott on the call.
