Saint Louis FC takes on the Rochester Rhinos in a United Soccer League match tonight at Toyota Stadium at World Wide Technology Soccer Park in Fenton. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 pm. The match was previously scheduled for May 6th, but was rescheduled due to flooding in the area.

Tickets from the original May 6 date will be good at the gate tonight. Tickets can also be purchased online at SaintLouisFC.com, by calling 636-680-0997 or at Soccer Park tonight.

The St. Louis USL club is currently 4-6-3 on the season and sits in 13th place in the USL East with 15 points. Rochester is 5-3-5 on the season and sits in 9th place in the conference with 20 points.

Last Time Out For STLFC

STLFC traveled to the New York area last weekend to take on New York Red Bulls II in New Jersey. In the 26th minute, Adam Grinwis couldn’t control a NYRBII free kick and Brandon Allen was able to easily put the ball in the back of the net for the game’s lone goal. The 1-0 loss put Saint Louis further behind in the USL East.

Saint Louis FC had several chances in the second half. Jose Angulo was unable to convert a cross from Ryan Howe in the 65th minute. Octavio Guzman beat the New York goalkeeper with a shot from outside the box in the 87th minute, but the ball went off the goalpost.

Watch highlights of the match below.

Fall Leads Balanced Rochester Attack

Wal Fall leads the Rochester Rhinos in scoring with 4 goals on the season, two of which have been converted penalties. The German defender is not related to Djiby Fall of FC Cincinnati, who St. Louis has had some trouble with this season.

Four other players have scored two goals each for the Rhinos this season and a total of nine different players have accounted for the 16 goals the team has scored in its thirteen games.

Rochester has conceded 15 goals on the season, an average of 1.2 goals per match, with 5 clean sheets. Five of those goals came in a 5-0 loss to the Charleston Battery back on April 15.

After that lopsided loss, the Rhinos went on an eight-match unbeaten streak before dropping their last two. The team fell to Orlando City B to snap its streak and lost to the Charlotte Independence 2-1 last Saturday.

Mark Pulisic, an assistant coach for the Rhinos, is the father of U.S National Team phenom Christian Pulisic. Bob Lilley is the head coach of the Rochester Rhinos.

The Rhinos are owned by husband and wife David and Wendy Dworkin. The Rochester-area lawyers bought the club in January of 2016 and recently told the Democrat & Chronicle that they lost $1.7 million operating the club last season.

Former Rhinos Dot STLFC Lineup

The Saint Louis FC lineup features three players that previously played for Rochester.

Christian Volesky helped the Rhinos to the 2015 USL Championship and scored 18 goals and added 7 assists over his two seasons with the club.

Adam Grinwis appeared in 20 matches over 2 seasons with Rochester, recording 5 clean sheets.

Tony Walls appeared in 61 matches over three seasons for Rochester. He also captained the 2015 championship team and was honored as the team’s MVP.

What To Expect From Saint Louis FC Tonight?

What should we look for from Saint Louis FC tonight at Toyota Stadium? Hopefully goals. Preki’s team has scored one goal over its last four league games. The club has scored 13 goals in as many USL matches this season and 8 of those came during a three-match winning streak in April.

In order to get a win, the local lads will have to find a way to beat 2016 USL Golden Glove winner Thomas Gomez. Hopefully multiple times.

While Max Alvarez, Milan Petosevic and Ivan Mirkovic are all slowly making their way back from to the lineup, the injury bug has hit another player on the roster. The club announed today that defender Wes Charpie would be out 2-4 weeks due to an MCL sprain suffered in last weekend’s game against New York.
