Buzzfeed’s Unexpected Release Of The Twisted Ranch Video Led To Long Lines In Soulard

Soulard restaurant Twisted Ranch recently got some press that not too many St. Louis restaurants get when Buzzfeed published a video about their establishment. While the restaurant was surely appreciative of the video that “went viral” and has currently been viewed over 21 million times, it would have been nice if things went a little differently.

You see, Buzzfeed didn’t tell the restaurant when they were going to publish the video. Sure, the folks at Twisted knew there would be a Buzzfeed video coming out eventually. They didn’t know that they video would be posted last Wednesday on Facebook.

While the video has been viewed over 21 million times, the Facebook post has also been shared more than 277,000 times.

A manager at the restaurant told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that the onslaught of ranch-lovers led to three-hour waits last weekend. On at least one of those days, Twisted Ranch had to close early because they simply ran out of food.

Twisted Ranch’s location in Soulard is far from roomy, either in the front of the house or the back. The location’s size contributed to the fiasco owners Jim Hayden and Chad Allen dealt with when their original chef walked off the job during their soft-opening.

The restaurant seems to have gotten through its sudden bout with “going viral”, however. Twisted Ranch currently has 4.5-out-of-5 stars on its Facebook page. Reviews from over the weekend show that people were quite excited to try the restaurant and left happy, despite sometimes waiting hours to eat.

Drove a couple hours to get here, waited a couple hours for a table. SOOOOOOO worth it!!! Great atmosphere! Fun, fun, fun place. Food was delicious. The staff was awesome! Aaron was friendly and gave great recommendations. Made for a great adventure! We’ll be back!
