The Great Wall, Fist Fight and A Cure For Wellness Open In Movie Theaters Across St. Louis This Weekend

The Great Wall, Fist Fight and A Cure For Wellness are in theaters around St. Louis this weekend. Moana, Patriots Day, The Space Between Us and Monster Trucks  begin showing at Keller 8 Cinema. The Girl On The Train, Arrival, and  Keeping Up With The Joneses are among the movies now available to rent at Redbox.

Fist Fight opens tonight at MX Movies in downtown St. Louis.  Fifty Shades Darker and John Wick: Chapter 2 will also be showing throughout the weekend.

Recapping Last Weekend

The LEGO Batman Movie easily topped the weekend box office, opening to more than $53 million in ticket sales. The other two debut films this past weekend were well behind LEGO Batman, but still managed to sell a lot of tickets. Fifty Shades Darker opened with $46. 6 million in ticket sales, while  John Wick: Chapter 2 came in just over the $30.4 million mark.

Fist Fight

Charlie Day, Ice Cube, Tracy Morgan and Jillian Bell star in Fist Fight, in theaters this weekend. Teacher Andy Campbell (Day) accidently gets fellow teacher Ron Strickland (Ice Cube) fired and is challenged to an old-school after-school fight.

A Cure For Wellness

A Cure For Wellness, opening in theaters this weekend, may be the first movie to capitalize on “fake news.” 20th Century Fox, the studio behind the film, set up websites designed to look like real news websites to promote the film. The sites included ads for the film as well as other references to the film. Some of the sites featured fake articles on topics currently in the news, mostly pertaining to politics and President Trump. Some of those stories were shared thousands of times on social media by people not realizing they were actually invented to promote the movie.

Keller 8 Cinema in South County welcomes a host of new films to its screens this weekened. Moana, Patriots Day, Monster Trucks and The Space Between Us all begin showing at Keller 8 tomorrow.

Make It A Redbox Night

Arrival, The Girl on the Train and Keeping Up With The Joneses are all now available to rent at your local Redbox.


Arrival comes to your local Redbox this week after making just shy of $100 million at the domestic box office. Starring Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, Forest Whitaker and Michael Stuhlbarg, Arrival is nominated for 8 Oscars awards. Among those are nods for Best Picture and Dennis Villeneuve for Best Director.
