Downtown

Holidays at Union Station: This holiday attraction features the North Pole Village with Santa’s workshop, a hands-on experience for children and parents, complete with a certificate of completion in Elf Academy and hot chocolate and Christmas cookie. Glacier Park features a light and fountain show synchronized to Christmas songs. The North Pole Lodge features a state-of-the-art 3D light show in the Grand Hall, and Santa’s Express, a fun holiday train ride.

50 Years of Blood, Sweat and Cheers: A tribute to the St. Louis Blues and their fans. Join us to celebrate 50 years of St. Louis Blues Hockey in St. Louis! Fans and players have generously donated memorabilia, including jerseys, sticks, programs and ticket stubs. The Carnegie Room on the 3rd floor will display the donated items from December 5, 2016 through March 4, 2017 during regular Library hours. The Great Hall will display some of the old dasher boards from years gone by.

World’s Largest Ugly Christmas Sweater Party: The Diamond Family Presents the 2nd annual World’s Largest Ugly Christmas Sweater Party. We will attempt to break and set the new Guinness World Record for the World’s Largest Ugly Christmas Sweater Party that has been previously set at 3,400 people by KU. While attempting to break the record we want to see how many canned food goods we can donate to Operation Food Search. $8 General Admission ticket includes santa hat, discounted drink specials at each Ballpark Village venue from 7pm to Midnight, access to holiday atmosphere with live Christmas characters and photo-booths at each venue! $30 Vintage Ugly Sweater Ticket includes vintage pre-washed ugly Christmas sweater (sizes S-2XL), santa hat, discounted drink specials at each Ballpark Village venue from 7pm to Midnight, raffle ticket for a chance to win prizes, access to holiday atmosphere with live Christmas Characters and photo-booths at each venue!

Hot Chocolate 15K/5K Run: America’s sweetest race. The 15k will support the Ronald McDonald House of St. Louis and the 5k will support GO! St. Louis. Race first, and enjoy delicious marshmallow sweet stations along the course. Participants receive a finisher’s mug for hot chocolate consumption. Registration is $54 for the 5K and $79 for the 15K.

Brunch with Santa & Fredbird: Come enjoy activities for the kids, photos with Santa, free admission into the Cardinals Museum, and brunch for the family. Free for children under 3, $40 for adults, $15 for children ages 3-11.

CWE 7th Annual Window Walk: Window Walk highlights the many wonderful attributes of the holidays in the CWE — shopping at boutiques, enjoying seasonal libations, great meals at local restaurants and strolling amidst elegantly decorated windows. Activities include street entertainment, strolling carolers, special discounts at participating businesses, food and drink offerings including s’mores, kettle corn and roasted chestnuts, clowns, carriage rides and more. Live music by Mario y Julio, Dusty James & Abalone Pearl, Band Together and Michelle Defabio throughout the neighborhood, an ice carving competition in the Consulate Building parking lot, children’s activities at Maryland Plaza, and Tree lighting at Maryland Plaza.

Arch Rival & GateKeepers Roller Derby: St Louis Local Roller Derby is back! Join us for our season home opener double header with a rematch of Arch Rival’s Stunt Devils vs. M80s and GateKeepers’ Central West Friends vs. Creve Coroners. Visit with Fredbird, try the radar gun throw, spin the wheel of luck, and check ou the 200 card and memorabilia tables. Tickets are $4 in advance or $6 at the door. Reserve autograph tickets in advance.

Sounds of the Season 2016: This December, The Ambassadors of Harmony chorus will once again rekindle the joy and magic of the holidays with its always popular Sounds of the Season concert. Celebrate with the Ambassadors as the chorus puts on five heartwarming concerts filled with musical favorites that will get you in the spirit. The show has become a yearly tradition over the past three decades by combining comedy and the lighter side of popular holiday songs with classic carols and sacred music that tell the story of the season. The 140-man chorus is proudly directed by Jim Henry, the music department chair at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and Jonny Moroni, baritone for the world-champion barbershop quartet, Vocal Spectrum.

Magical Holiday Show:An exciting and magical show for the entire family featuring Mid America’s finest magicians with a special tribute to our veterans and first responders. The show is free to veterans, first responders and their families. General public tickets are $10.

The Nutcracker: The Alexandra Ballet of Chesterfield brings its annual production of The Nutcracker to Logan University. This one-hour, narrated performance is designed with children in mind and features a 20-minute intermission where families can visit the Land of Sweets for refreshments. Reserved seating tickets are $21.50 for adults, $16.50 for children ages 2-12, and children 2 and under are free. GA tickets are $16.50 for adults, $11.50 children ages 2-12.

Christmas Traditions: A month long event featuring parades, carolers, performances from the Cobblestone Wassailers, an interactive presentation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, a Land of Sweets Dance party, candlelight processions, marshmallow roasts, and more. St. Louis Ambush: Come out to the St. Charles Family Arena and cheer on the Ambush as they take on the Florida Tropics! Coming off a loss against the Milwaukee Wave, they will play at home on Friday against the Florida tropics before heading back out to take on the Dallas Sidekicks. Ticket prices start at $18.

However, one day when she is married and has a family to cook for, she would love to take cooking classes and learn awesome skills like the chefs on Iron Chef America...as long as she doesn't have to clean the dishes afterwards.
