Kicks
Kicks is a story about sneakers. It’s a story about fresh Air Jordans to be specific. Jahking Guillory stars as Brandon, the teen longing for the aforementioned Air Jordans. Brandon’s sneakers are stolen after he finally gets his dream kicks. He then recruits two friends to try and retrieve his shoes.
Mahersala Ali, Christopher Jordan Wallace and Christopher Meyer also star in the film.
Reviews for Kicks, the first film directed by Justin Tipping, has been generally good. Several of the reviews praise Tipping for his willingness to take risks in the film, which could also explain the smattering for mediocre reviews. Sheila O’Malley gave the film 3 1/2 stars on RogerEbert.com.
