The Magnificent Seven And Storks Debut In Theaters This Weekend

The Magnificent Seven and Storks debut in movie theaters around St. Louis this weekend. Mechanic: Resurrection and Stark Trek Beyond begin showing at Keller 8 Cinema, while Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, The Nice Guys and Huntsman: Winter’s War are now available at Redbox.

The Magnificent Seven opens tonight at MX Movies in downtown St. Louis and will be showing throughout the weekend. When the Bough Breaks and Blair Witch are also showing at the downtown theater.

Recapping Last Weekend

Sully took the weekend box office crown for a second consecutive weekend last weekend. Tom Hanks and company took in $21.65 million in their second weekend of release. That total easily bested the debut films, led by Blair Witch with $9.58 million in receipts.

Bridget Jones’s Baby made $8.57 million in its debut while Snowden opened to just a few dollars over $8 million.

The Magnificent Seven

The classic 1960s western series The Magnificent Seven hits the big screen this weekend with an all-star cast. Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke and Hayley Bennett are among the stars in the film that Peter Travers of Rolling Stone gives three-out-of-four stars.

The Ringer has a great history of Magnificent Seven from Seven Samurai to 1960 Western to the current Antoine Fuqua-directed film.

Todd M. Thatcher predicts an opening weekend of $47.1 million for The Magnificent Seven.

Storks

Storks, out this weekend, attempts to reinvigorate the age-old yarn of storks delivering babies. Andy Samberg, Katie Crown, Kelsey Grammar, Jennifer Aniston, Ty Burrell, Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele are among talented folks that lent their voices to this film.

Indie Wire likens this film to Raising Arizona with Looney Tunes animation.

Todd M. Thatcher predicts an opening weekend of $27.9 million for Storks.
