ABC’s Greatest Hits

2234 days ago.

Just when I thought the world of singing shows couldn’t get better….it has! First there was American Idol and The Voice – the stars are judges not singers, but they do perform on the show from time to time. Then there was Lip Sync Battle (still going strong and amazing) where stars lip sync other singers’ songs, and now…finally…a 6 week series where our favorite singers from the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s will perform their own songs (and others) with other stars, and I can’t wait!

It’s called “Greatest Hits” and it airs on ABC this Thursday at 9/8C. Each episode will cover a 5 year period from the 80s to the 2000s, with our favorite singers from those years performing our favorite songs. Some might be solos, some might be duets…who knows!

What I do know is that the first episode (premiering this Thursday at 9/8C in case you missed the first announcement) will feature the years 1980-1985, which we all know means we will be hearing some of our karaoke favorites like “Jessie’s Girl,” “Footloose,” and “Don’t Stop Believin.” Plus Kool & The Gang will perform “Celebration” and a special Michael Jackson tribute will include Jason Derulo dancing and performing “Human Nature.”

I also know that next week’s episode (Thursday, July 7) will cover the late 90s, and that Meghan Trainor will fangirl out performing with everyone’s favorite boy band from the 90s, Backstreet Boys. And if that wasn’t already enough, Hanson will perform “MMMBop.” Of course there are other throwback favorites including a “Gangsta’s Paradise” duet, Jewel’s “You Were Meant For Me” and an LL Cool J & Wiz Khalifa performance, but seriously…Hanson…MMMBop…that is all.

Check out the show’s hosts, Arsenio Hall and Kelsea Ballerini, talking about what makes the show so great; the nostalgia, the collaborations of old and new artists, and the magic.

Doesn’t know how to cook and survives pretty much on macaroni and cheese and pizza, so naturally, loves to eat out at restaurants. However, one day when she is married and has a family to cook for, she would love to take cooking classes and learn awesome skills like the chefs on Iron Chef long as she doesn't have to clean the dishes afterwards.
