X-Men: Apocalypse

io9 calls X-Men: Apocalypse the biggest X-Men movie yet, unfortunately, it also calls it the emptiest. The Washington Post reports that this film will likely be the worst-reviewed film of any movie in the franchise.

Todd M. Thatcher predicts an opening three-day weekend of $82.8 million and $100.4 million if you include the holiday.

Alive Through the Looking Glass

Alice Through the Looking Glass is the sequel to 2010’s Alice in Wonderland. The original opened with $116.1 million in 2010 on its way to topping $1 billion worldwide during its theater run. It saw two-thirds of its sales come from overseas markets. Gizmodo calls this sequel “ambitious but completely inessential” in its review.

Johnny Depp returns as the Mad Hatter and Mia Wasikowska returns as Alice in this “trippy time machine” of a sequel. Helna Bonham Carter and Anne Hathaway star as queens who are also a feuding pair of sisters.

Todd M. Thatcher predicts an opening three-day weekend of $53.6 million and $67.7 million for the full holiday weekend.
