John Malkovich Movies Won’t Hit Theaters For 100 Years After Cannes Premiere

Some marketing ideas are just kind of dumb and should be put to a spot almost as soon as they are brought up. 100 Years: The Movie You Will Never See, starring John Malkovich, will screen at the Cannes Film Festival this year. The film will then be locked in a safe until its schedule theater debut on November 18, 2115.

UPDATE: 100 Years won’t actually be screened at Cannes. The safe containing the film will appear at Cannes. Watch the trailer for 100 Years here.

The film is being sponsored in part by Louis X111 cognac. The safe containing the film, which is set to open automatically in 2115 unless the world ends before then, will eventually be housed in the Louis X111 cellars in Cognac, France.
