The annual St. Louis holiday that is the St. Louis Cardinals Home Opener comes this year on Monday, April 11. Festivities will start early in the day before the Cardinals take on the Milwaukee Brewers at 3: 15 pm at Busch Stadium.

Lou Brock, who had a scary bout with an infection last year, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

Official Opening Day Pep Rally At Ballpark Village

The official Opening Day Pep Rally will be held in Ballpark Village on April 11 from 11 am until 1:45 pm. There will be music from Todd “The One Guy” Thomas, appearances by former players, Fredbird and his crew as well as Fox Sports announcers. Bill DeWitt III will also join the party and hand out Opening Day tickets to lucky fans.

KMOX Kegs & Eggs

KMOX is throwing their annual Kegs and Eggs celebration on April 11, 2016 for the St. Louis Cardinals Home Opener

Now in its sixth year, the KMOX Kegs & Eggs Celebration has become somewhat of a tradition. The event will be held in the Ballpark Village parking lot from 10 AM – 2 PM. Your $50 ticket includes access to the covered VIP area where you’ll enjoy access to UNLIMITED food and beverages. Food will be provided by Sugar Fire Smoke House. Beverages option will included Budweiser products, a Bloody Mary bar, Whiskey Village and more.

The event will also feature various KMOX personalities previewing the 2016 season and interviewing various members of the St. Louis Cardinals organization, “baseball experiences” and giveaways.

Free Smoothie Day

Smoothie King is celebrating the Cardinals’ Home Opener by giving away free smoothies. Anyone who stops into a St. Louis-area location between 7 AM and 9 PM can get a free 12 oz Strawberry X-Treme smoothie.

Y98 Block Party

Radio stations Y98 and KESK, both part of CBS Radio-St. Louis, are hosting a free block party on April 11th from 10 Am – 2 PM on 7th between Walnut and Market outside The Outfield. The event will feature live entertainment, food, refreshments and more.

InsideSTL Live Broadcast At Llywelyn’s Pub In Soulard

CBS Sports 105.7 HD-2 FM/920-AM, better known as InsideSTL. will be broadcasting live from Llywelyn’s Pub in Soulard for much of the day on April 11. The station’s flagship show, The Ryan Kelley Morning After will begin the day at 7 AM. The Hollywood Casino Press Box and The Writer’s Block shows will also be broadcasting live. Doors to the public at Llywelyn’s will open at 9 AM and the pub will feature a special brunch menu. They will also be offering a complimentary shuttle to and from Busch Stadium for patrons beginning one hour before the game.

DJ Mike Cotton will keep the party going after the game at Llywelyn’s, according to their Instagram account.

The St. Louis Cardinals open the 2016 season on Sunday, April 3 with a game against the Pittsburgh Pirates at 12: 05 PM. The team will play two more games against the Pirates before traveling to Atlanta for three games with the Braves before returning to St. Louis.

Adam Wainwright will start the opening game of the 2016 season. It will be his fifth Opening Day start for the Cardinals.
