Nelly has long had a connection to country music, way back to 2004’s “Over and Over” with Tim McGraw. St. Louis’s favorite son included the track on his fourth album, Suits. After being released as a single, it hit #3 on the Billboard Hot 100. He then went on to partner with Florida Georgia Line on a massively successful remix of “Cruise”.

Nelly released his latest single “Get Like Me” not long ago. Pharrell and Nicki Minaj are featured on the track. His 7th studio album, M.O., was released back in October.

His latest country music venture is a cover of Thomas Rhett’s “Die A Happy Man”, which he released yesterday on SoundCloud. The track is also available to purchase on iTunes.

“Die A Happy Man” is one of the singles off of Rhett’s 2015 Tangled Up album. It’s been one of the most successful country singles, in terms of radio airplay, in recent years. Rhett wrote the song along with Sean Douglas and Joe Spargur.

Rhett is currently on tour with Jason Aldean and A Thousand Horses. They play Mizzou Arena in Columbia, Missouri on Saturday, February 6. The tour comes to St. Louis on Friday, July 22 as part of the Bandana’s Bar-B-Q Country Megaticket at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre.
